Conveyquote - has anyone used for conveyancing?

Hi all,
We are looking to move and are looking for quotes for conveyancing.
TheAdvisory.co.uk recommends the site Conveyquote.com and the quote produced for sale and purchase was very attractive...however I have not found much by way of independent review of this site - obviously The Advisory and the site itself speak highly of it but would need more assurance.
The only independent opinion I found was on a West Ham fans forum (!) which said they were fine but a little slow, but the poster had not completed their move so I don't really want to go with this site without a little more research.
I would be very grateful for feedback from anyone who has used this site in the past, or for any other general tips as to the best way to find a good price and service.
Many thanks in anticipation of your help!
All the best,
Matt

I regularly refer people to the TheAdvisory.co.uk site's section comparing quotes since it has sensible advice on how to check quotes are like-for-like and have no 'hidden extras'.
However I have serious reservations about the actual recomendations they make and would advise you to use their own advice in evaluating the quotes they provide, AND checking whether you will get a solicitor or call centre etc...0 -
so do most solicitors also arrange surveys and I take it this is an additional fee on top of their fee.0

Thanks G_M and timmyt, I did have serious reservations and the fact that so far there hasn't even been a response from someone who has used Conveyquote.com means that even though the price seems good, I won't be using the site. I'm not up for that level of leaping into the unknown.
I agree that generally TheAdvisory.co.uk provides very good advice. I feel that I wouldn't be averse to straightforward checks being done by clerks as this will allow better value for money, but feel that the amount of checking I would have to do to make sure things were done correctly means it's worth paying a bit extra for the assurance - if you guys feel that the above is the best way to go then I'm happy to go with that.
Thanks again for the advice, all the best

I also found Convy Quote through theadvisory.co.uk. I believe Conveyquote = Conveylaw, that's the firm I dealt with. I'm not sure if they went through a name change.
I had an absolute nightmare with Conveylaw/ Conveyquote. They are certainly cheap, but make sure you understand any "extras" being charged for. My conveyancer was filling in for someone on maternity leave, and apparently no longer works for the company, but I can only go by the experience I had. Judging by other comments which have been appearing in the last few months, my experience is not a one-off, though. (My personal suspicion is that thay might once have been fine, but they have been unable to cope with the expansion in business they've received through theadvisory.co.uk recommendation.)
It was hard to get through on the phone, it was hard to get someone to call me back. Important emails were apparently ignored for weeks. On one occasion they posted me someone else's letter. They sent their Leasehold information form to the managing agents, rather than the (much more detailed form) that the buyer's solicitors had asked them to send. I complained and did get things moving, but after weeks of delays my buyer actually threatened to pull out and I had to run around like a mad thing phoning the freeholder and managing agents to get the information Convey Law had not obtained. My estate agent has said he will refuse to deal with them again. I certainly won't be using them again.
For a different conveyancing a couple of months later I used theadvisory.co.uk's other recommendation, compareandconvey, with lots of solicitors quoting for business. I had a much better experience with this. I went with Bolton Jones and Co. of Liverpool, specifically Andrew Tyl, and things went fairly smoothly, if I didn't get through to Andrew personally he always phoned me back, and in general I always felt things were under control. I would personally stick with a solicitor you've used before and have a good opinion of, or failing that, a firm recommended by someone you trust. But I didn't have any strong recommendations for conveyancers, and if you were in the situation I was, compareandconvey may be able to put you in touch with a conveyancing firm looking for business, and save you a bit of money.0
