Seeking Compensation from BT

Hi all, Having had my landline out of action for a week in late January. Incoming calls were transferred to my mobile. I had expected some sort of compensation from BT. I have now had the online account & guess what?? No compensation allowed. I phoned BT yesterday & was offered £5,which was then increased to £10 after I had suggested that their offer was not acceptable. I could get no further with them & I would be very grateful for any advice to assist with my claim as I feel that I am just knocking my head against BT's brick wall. Thanks for any advice received.

Does £10 not cover the week of reduced service?
What amount do you think is reasonable? As the line is residential and you have a mobile, you will be limited on what you feel you are entitled to.0 -
The only compensation that I can see you are due would be the cost of any phone calls from your mobile that would normally be done from the house phone.
Unless you made a load of calls the £10 easily covers it.This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
There is no SLA on a residential contract, therefore the only compo you are entitled to is credit for the downtime. £10 is therefore more then generous for one week.No free lunch, and no free laptop

You are not entitled to compensation - but a full credit for the period your line was out of service should be offered, and you can complain if it is not. However, if you are after a payment for using a different service, that won't fly or indeed the cost of those calls.
To get this, you need to have a Service Level Agreement which will agree those terms explicitly however, the line cost will be considerably higher than that of a standard residential line (if that is what you have).0
