New Kitchen and appliances, same brand?

Managed to get a £1 which trail and am looking at an induction hob, single oven, extractor and 600 intergrated dishwasher.
Which best buy induction hob is an Indesit and oven an electrolux, Dishwasher a Siemans.
Do they all need to be same brand?
Dishwasher will be fully intergrated so that's can be any thing.
Looking at a Howdens kitchen and was going to have Lamona appliances, but reviews not good.
Any ideas?
Thanks

Personally I think its nice to gave the same make appliance on show cooker hob and hob etc but an integrated dw doesnt have to be the same.
Lamano appliances? Are they Howdens own brand? IF so Id avoid0 -
You can have whatever brand suits you.
The only thing with Lamona is that they offer a 2 year guarantee which most of the other don't.Eat vegetables and fear no creditors, rather than eat duck and hide.0 -
Bosch siemens and neff come from the same company, and you will find therefore similar features but different prices.
In my view, induction hobs all look the same from across the kitchen so buy on price and features trade off.
From my own recent extensive research, went siemens for wmchine and dryer - was going to go bosch but then found matching siemens models were better priced and guaranteed longer at the time.
Hob went siemens for their zone heating feature, miele had it too but i couldnt bring myself to pay the price even if the quality is there.
Oven, neff and matching microwave as the mwave was on top of the oven and i think those two did need to match for looks to you point.
Extractor is hidden behind a door so did not need to consider brand.0 -
I am planning a Howdens kitchen and was having the same dilemma as the OP, though I have decided that the same brand (on appliances where the name is on show) will look much better.
I'm not convinced by Which reports though. I have bought things in the past on their recommendations and haven't always agreed with them subsequently.
Ideally, Miele would be the way to go. However, the potential cost would be prohibitive.
I have more or less decided on Bosch and am making a list of the features I need/want for each appliance, looking at reviews of them, and then for the best price.
Fortunately I just need oven/hob/extractor (as I will probably keep the existing oldish integrated Miele dishwasher, and the washing machine and dryer are not in the kitchen).0 -

Hi
My best advice would be to go and see 1 or 2 kitchen specialists as they should be able to give you much better advice about your kitchen project not just about the appliances than you could ever find online. Also should be able to help with the kitchen design better than Howdens, as the Howdens range of styles and more importantly range of unit sizes is very limiting.

Thanks CKdesigner.
I'm still in the early stages of planning - and it is a bit daunting, although I know pretty much what I want.
I've got a kitchen fitter lined up (husband knows him through work). He has installed lots of Howdens kitchens and has made some good suggestions. My kitchen is not small, but it is an awkward shape to plan around.0 -

Hi namecheck
Even more so speak to an independent kitchen specialist / designer if the space is a bit awkward. They should be more up to date with current design techniques and available solutions. For instance our cabinet manufacturer can actually make any unit to any dimension, so this is really useful when it comes to small or awkward spaces.
Also don't be afraid to pay for design work, as long as you get the full set of plans at the end of it, you would get a properly designed space. Rather than the usual DIY store 'free design' service.
Good luck

I have all kind of different brands in my kitchen - I just pick based on a mix of brand reputation, what I can afford, whether the appliance does what I need it to do and whether I like the style of said appliance. What I cook is far more important than having everything brand-matched or not :rotfl:Now free from the incompetence of vodafail0

Hi CKdesigner
I'm beginning to see what you mean.
Now that I've sat down with measurements I've realised that Howdens options are relatively limited, for a kitchen like mine anyway.
I don't mind paying for design work, but the kitchen showrooms nearest to me either seem to have kitchens I would not want, or they're MUCH too upmarket.
I think I'll have to investigate a bit more!0
