  • I dont quite follow - are you trying to see how accurate an Ebay counter is for example ?
  • I think this is a use of PC at work issue..

To the OP, you could test it yourself, download https://www.ccleaner.com and clear your cookies, then have a look around ebay, and run analyze to see what cookies have appeared.
Ever get the feeling you are wasting your time?
  • will do try todo this albertross yes it is the pc at work issue... have just found out that the 2500 ebay hits have been since october when I thought it was from april???? as I have been in office for roughly 10 hours per week this is a ridiculous figure and I am trying to shed dome doubt that this would be impossible to achieve , thanks
  • You could always turn it back on them, if they don't allow personal use of the internet, or ebay use, then ask why they haven't implemented appropriate blocking/proxy software, e.g. websense, and why they have not brought this up with you before now.

On the subject of accessing your manager emails, well you shouldn't be able to do that without knowing their password, and if you can (without a password), then that shows their incompetence at setting up a secure IT system.

If all the passwords are or were the same, that shows gross negligence on the companies own part for allowing such an insecure system.

If the manager has told you a password, then they have effectively granted you access.

  • Just read your other thread , so I can see the context the question was asked in.

From a techie point of view , it sounds like they've had an outlook web access system with a hole or two in it.

if you log into https://www.website.com/exchange with users A's details then you'll access users A's mail.

If you log into https://www.website.com/exchange/userA with users A's details , you'll also get users A's mail

If its been set up so that user B has access to user A's mailbox , then user B could access user A's mailbox with their own login credentials by connecting to https://www.website.com/exchange/userA - otherwise they'd just open up their own mailbox.

I hope this makes sence ? if you've been granted permissions to userA's mailbox , then you wouldn't even need to use outlook web access , you could open up the mailbox from within outlook
