When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.

But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free.

Examples could be hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.

So be proud of those small steps, they really are important :money:

Morning  could not believe we weren't started already!!! I am up early as I have to go and do my speed awareness course after being caught speeding in Dec :( real pain in the wotsit! Oh well I live and learn...

  • [STRIKE]all meals from stores[/STRIKE]
  • [STRIKE]maybe nsd??? if I can persuade oh to drive...[/STRIKE]
  • [STRIKE]going to a museum that I got free tickets to. Will take a flask of coffee & snacks ;)[/STRIKE] didn't go decided that as its miserable here it wasn't worth the cost of petrol to drive there to save £2! will go when its a lovely day and have a walk and a picnic as well! ;)
  • [STRIKE]eating porridge now to fill myself up & free drinks on the course [/STRIKE]
  • [STRIKE]work on jigsaw puzzle with oh later[/STRIKE]
  • watch a film & stay in tonight
  • possible reconcile spreadsheet with all my spends over the last week - its going to be illuminating! OMG its too daunting! Am going to have to have a crazy ebay sesh tomorrow while its free listing to recoup some of the money I've spent in the last couple of weeks... :o
have a good day everyone x

    Hello,

I was going to start us off when I was on the bus at 7.15am but it got a bit awkward to cut and paste. :p

I'm not doing too well today - no HM lunch - mainly cos I didn't go to asda last night and got takeaway pizza instead  Am going to give myself a 'refund'from the joint account to make it less painful ;)

    Used bus ticket

Brought tea bags for later and a flask of tea too.

Got email to say I got stuff refunded.

Got potential buyer for my flat :T not sure how much negative equity there is but tempting to get rid

    Night in with oh tonight.

    Keeping it simple

    Morning all!

Slinking back in with my tail between my legs... Have been reasonably DFW-y over the past few months but haven't been posting, tut tut, so I'm sure things have slipped through the net! Changing that now though!

Thanks for starting the thread DNMS and hello to everyone else!

    Today I will:
    • Check banks
    • Check CCs
    • Reconcile banks/CCs to MS Money
    • Take boss to train station (should get some petrol money!)
    • [STRIKE]Run[/STRIKE] Well, it was more of a brisk walk, but done it!!!
    • Update blog!
    • Work on work's facebook page - sadly neglected :(
    • Do a bit more work
    • Read 2 chapters of OU work and online activities
    • Housesitting this weekend and have been left £20 for a chinese, woop!
    • Need to buy a suit for interview next week - will go to Mr A's first, if no luck then town... I don't wear suits in my job so hate spending money on them!
    • Get petrol from Mr A's whilst I'm there - not filling up at the moment and seems to be saving me money, I tend to have a bit of a heavy right foot when the petrol tank is full until the needle moves!
    • Watch the rugby!

Have a great day all and Happy St Patricks Day!
