iveco daily EGR / turbo problem

  • A turbo can't suck on the exhaust side, its divided into 2 halves, exhaust side(turbine) and compressor side(sucks air in).Exhaust gases push on the turbine, spinning it at many 10,
000's rpm and this is on the same shaft as the compressor forcing it to suck air in.
For the turbine to suck in something from the exhaust it would have to spin the wrong way which isn't possible and if it did then the compressor side would be blowing air out and the engine working backwards,I think there'd be more to worry about than a damaged turbo :p.
