I apologise if I'm repeaing anything that has been posted before
Five years ago I bought 2 settees from L of Leath, we paid upfront and the salesman persuaded us that the insurance would be of use stating quite clearly that pet damage was covered but only restricted to one claim. We have 4 cats so thought it was a good idea. We immediately paid an extra £200.
In January this year just before the insurance ran out I contacted the insurance as a new cat that we had had over a short period of time had started kneading the settee at one place and had damaged it. I claimed, the man came had a look and the claim was rejected. The policy stated "one incident of pet damage" and this was judged to be more than one incident.
I realise now that this damage was not covered but I had bought it under the impression that it was one claim, not one incident. Have I been misold a policy and if so how do I claim, do I use the PPi claim form?

The insurance you took out was to cover the furniture.
PPI is insurance to cover loans or finances in the event that you are not able to do so yourself as a result of redundancy or sickness etc.
The two types of insurance are not the same.
You may have been miss sold the policy, but it's not a PPI-miss sold claim.0 -
The OP may have posted this in the wrong forum, but the Financial Ombudsman Service does not just deal with PPI.You may have been miss sold the policy, but it's not a PPI-miss sold claim.
The OP should go to this site:

and take it from there..0 -

Hi. No, I know the FOS doesn't just deal in PPI. I never said it did. I said the person asking the question didn't have PPI.0 -
Thanks for the info.0
