Hi, can anyone tell me how long it usually takes for delivery of a new sofa (from ordering) ... I've been told it's about 12 weeks but does it really take that long ..

We bought ours from CSL and they have rotating stock on most popular models. We could have had ours in 2 weeks, but we agreed delivery no sooner that March 12 as we haven't moved in yet.
    Spring into Spring 2015 - 0.7/12lb
  • We ordered ours in the sale in January from Downtown (Grantham, Lincs) and it took about 6-7 weeks. 12 weeks does sound a little excessive...

Ours was delivered in 4 weeks of ordering. 12 weeks is a long time.

    highly recommended.

(i can also recommend a vendor on ebay where you can collect next day.
cheap leather sofas and good value. pm me if req).
    Get some gorm.
  • I ordered mines before new yr.. and im not getting it till end march!!! (DFS)
  • My leather sofa was ordered locally and should have been 8 weeks as was made to order and coming from Italy, but took 12 weeks due to the company's holiday period. My dads from the same local shop took nearly 6 months!!!

Depends on what you are after, I could have had a dusty old leather sofa that was mass produced and sitting in a grimy warehouse somewhere, on next day delivery but I was prepared to wait and boy was it worth it!

any sofa under say 1500/2000 quid ish will be mass produced.
some are more mass produced than others though.
one factory in manchester makes a sofa every 20 seconds! ive seen the production line.
these are the ones sold by many famous retail names.

They tend to place orders and then group them together for shipping/making etc from manufacturers to get better prices. The lead time they state is always approx. if you want it within the 12 week period you need to tell them that time is of the essence and you reserve your right to cancel the order with a full refund if its not delicered within that time. Needs to be put in writing to them.

12 weeks is about right, although most are deliveredwithin that period.
:confused:I have nothing better to do!!!!
