I have exactly the same problem and it drives me mad. On average mine last about 3 months before falling apart.
I'm about to buy a new pair, and will probably go for moccasins, the type without a sole attached. I have seen them for around £13 on Amazon and £18 on ebay.
The lining still goes pretty quickly, but apart from that they tend to remain intact. They do also stain easily however.0
