From 1st May - unless you are signed up to paying by direct debit or monthly Payment Plan - BT will levy a quarterly charge of £4.50 (inc. VAT).
Customers who are billed monthly will have £1.50 added unless they have signed up to the Monthly Payment Plan.
How we are pay our bills is now being dictated by this company - to whom most of us are still forced to be tied to if we want the use of the internet regardless of whether we use BT for calls as well.
If free banking does end - then I wonder how many other companies will be 'forcing' customers into direct debit and into having bank accounts they would not otherwise need.

http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=381283Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.0
