Place to stay near Longleat/Bath?

Does anybody have any ideas of places to stay near Longleat Safari Park? We have been to Centerparcs already so fancy something a bit different and not as expensive! We will be going in the Summer. A cottage or a farm or something - self catering if poss. Ideally with a small play park or river they can throw sticks in etc.. Does anybody have any recommendations? Many thanks!

I had a great self-catering holiday in one of the barn conversions here, very rural north Dorest:

It's about 40 miles from Longleat, so you'll probably find other places nearer, but still 'do-able'.

The 'Tourist Attractions' page on their website lists loads of other 'animal-related' places to go. Including night-time badger-watching. Not sure ages in you family, but may be of interest.

You are very welcome to stay at our Self Catering Coach House at Sturford Mead Farm, Corsley,Warminster, Wiltshire, BA12 7QU we can hear the lions of Longleat when the wind is in this direction, we also offer very comfortable B&B in the Farm House, where Lord Bath was brought up with his Nanny, Ben Fogle and Kate Humble of Animal Park series also stayed in the Coach House.
There is so much for families to do in the area that you won't be disapointed when you visit Holidays Near Longleat.
