As a rough ballpark, that could potentially be an £1600 quid outlay to pay everyone, so unless you can get enough footage to stretch over two DVD's worth, then you've got an £1600 quid minimum target to reach just to break even on a single shoot.......And obviously all of this is based on the assumption that you're doing the directing, lighting, makeup e.t.c.. yourself, as you've also then got to factor in staff costs for the shoot as well.
True aswell. I'm not sure what sort of figures these kind of films rake in. I mean, obvious the cult and popular ones, GGW or that one with Debbie, in Dallas, will make more money than "Another Typical Film XII".
TBH £1600 isn't a MASSIVE amount of money, but as you say there are other staff costs. I wonder if 3-4K would be a valid starting-point figure?
UKPrincess, what sort of money do you make for your site + clips? You don't have to give a figure, but is it good enough to live on? or retire on!?! or just nice-to-have extra money? Does it even pay for itself? When you started, did you find it unprofitable at first, until the word spread? Do you do requests? (I don't have one, just wondered if you did to keep the audience happy)

I have been severely remiss with updating things the last couple of months as I have been camming a lot which tends to use up my energies lol.
However, when I commit to uploading and updating regularly,my site and videos make up maybe a third of my income ( I am a full time cam/phone girl)
I started up my own site and clips store after I already had a fanbase due to camming-as well as a large following from my short Youtube clips I made of me smoking. So for me,my cam clients get me more video sales and member joins, and my clips buyers become cam clients-it all goes hand in hand for me.
And yes,I do requests for videos,mp3's etc-I am even the voice of somebody's Sat Nav:rotfl:
There is definitely money to be made if you research your market well, and put in the effort-I would say to make it truly profitable you really do have to commit to it full time.
On the other hand-if you were looking to just top up your income by a couple of hundred pounds a month you could easily do that with making maybe 2/3 short videos a week and building up a regular clientele and doing minimal promo.
Well I know you want to love her,but let me tell you brother, she's been sleeping in the devils bed...:A
Well even with adult work generally people sell videos for 5.00 or less, and Netflirt same deal. I feel that making a video is all fine and dandy but you need to market it and thats what costs the money
Its easy to make a everyday video but to make money you need t think outside the box

I disagree. I think if your video is good enough, people will go and buy it. Sure, you can't have NO advertising, but I don't think you need to spend a fortune on it in order to get the message out.

I think this is the key. Just like with UKPrincess, if you are performing for a niche market, people will get to know you quickly. Especially if you're good / catering to their specific tastes.
A lot of money goes into marketing otherwise your just another video.
Ok, lets assume you're correct. So you're just another video. Clearly even being "Just Another Video" is a good enough income for some people / some production houses. So whilst you're not earning the megabucks, it must still be an income, right? Otherwise nobody would produce them.
So if you produce a mediocre set of 5 videos (at a conservative cost of 5 grand), and that trickles a cashflow of £500 per month (£100 per video x 5), you only need to sell the videos for 10 months before you start raking in a profit, and the profit rolls in as long as the video sells. So the key here is actually to produce something so different that you just can't get it anywhere else. To pioneer the genre. Hmm. I might be on to something here.......
From an amateur's point of view here.....I spend no money on marketing whatsoever.
Of course I am not producing mainstream !!!!!!,with a big budget-I am doing niche, fetish video clips.
I market myself through camming on various sites and other adult related venues-but I can honestly say, this year the only money I have spent is on an extra webcam, and new outfits/lingerie.
So,it can be done this way-but,as I said,I am not producing high end dvds-just doing my own little amateur thing!

Exactly , thats what im trying to say things like AW girls etc there is no need to spend the big bucks but it is competitive.
But if your doing DVDS you need to be Special and do some marketing. there are 1000000000000 of professional and non pro movies out there.

You must be shopping in the the adult equivalent of poundland then because the average price i've seen most adult dvd's go for in sex shops is £10-£15 upwards.
