Anyone know of a good and reliable secure car park to use near Heathrow that doesn't require keys to be handed in? They would need to have a free shuttle bus to and from the car park.

TIA

Yes, like other major airports, Heathrow has a range of both short & long term parking available - just follow the signs when you arrive.

Just park in the car park, take the keys with you, and catch the 'free' shuttle bus that is included in the parking price. :)

(Dont forget to note down exactly where you parked the car, else you'll have difficulty trying to find it on your return)

Only do that if you want to pay more than you need to!

It's always better to pre-book, even if it's only the day before, rather than just pay the drive-up price - this applies to both Heathrow's own car parks and also other off-site car parks.

The main MSE site has a good guide to cheap airport car parking here -

Information about parking at Heathrow's own car parks is here -

Thanks for the tip but 6 days parking with something like Purple Parking costs around £42 for the whole 6 days, where as Heathrow parking is around £17 per day with advanced booking i.e. £102 for 6 days. Is there any other car parks that don't require key hand in, is secure and not a rip off?

Do you have a specific reason why you don't want to hand in your car keys?
The reason PP and others are much cheaper is that they need to be able to move your vehicle.

I went for a meet and greet valet park at Heathrow recently, was superb, very fast and the same cost as off site parking. Boked via skypark secure. Obviously you need to give them your keys though.

I've heard of stories where car park attendance take cars for their lunchtime sarnie runs. Any damage caused, we unlikely be reported and thus it is down to you to notice. If it is big then you may notice but if it is minor then you may not notice at all. I really don't know why they need to move cars as any other car park doesn't really work like that.

Luckily, I'm no longer needing car parking as I've managed to get a family member to drop and collect me so I avoid the whole hassle.

    Thanks for everyone's help.

Use a recognised company such as purple parking with a 'Park Mark' award and you should be fine. Take a note of the mileage before you leave it. They need the keys to move it because they maximise their space by parking the cars bumber to bumper in a large compund, this is why they are cheaper (more cars in less space).

I'f you want to take your keys then you have to pay the premiumn of the official heathrow car parks.
