Netflix and those M&S vouchers

I know there is another thread but that was described as being more to do with the quality of the online streaming package with Netflix. Whereas this is to do with the non-delivery of the M&S vouchers.
I took advantage of the recent Netflix offer of £24 of M&S vouchers. I followed the link from the MSE page and did everything I was supposed to and have been happily using the Netflix site since. Then I waited and waited for those vouchers .......... this was over a month ago.
I called Netflix last week and they basically washed their hands of the offer by saying they didn't know anything about it and advised me to talk to M&S! I was hoping to call them again this morning but my mobile operator Giffgaff network is down due to a power outage and my handsfree is dead!
I know MSE agent "MSE Becca" was supposed to be liaising with Netflix to sort this out but this was over a week ago and there has been no updates.
I don't have a problem with the Netflix service and would definitely recommend it. Whilst it didn't seem to have the latest stuff on there it still had enough to keep you entertained for a while.
I know there are many others who have had problems with vouchers out there so I would love to know who else is in my predicament. I am as soon as my network is back going to be calling them again as I am not happy with this and by now they must be aware of this issue.
Hope we get a satisfactory resolution to this soon :wall:
This was the garb I got when I signed up:
Offer only available in the UK to new, first time Netflix customers and their households. Internet access and valid payment method required to redeem offer. Please allow up to 14 business days after you start your free trial to receive your first £8 voucher. An additional £8 voucher will be sent within 14 days of your payment method is successfully charged for your first month’s paid service from this free trial, and again after your second consecutive month of service. Vouchers will be sent to you by a 3rd Party email service provider to the email provided during your Netflix signup. You will not be charged a Netflix membership fee during your free month. Netflix will begin to bill your payment method for the Netflix service at the end of your free month unless you cancel prior to the end of that period. Your Netflix membership is a month-to-month subscription that begins at sign-up, and that you can cancel at any time. No refunds or credits for partial months. A computer or other device that streams from Netflix (manufactured and sold separately) and broadband Internet connection are required to watch instantly. For terms and conditions, please see netflix.com/termsofuse.

I also signed up a while ago to take advantage of this offer and still have not received the vouchers.
I called Netflix customer services about an unrelated matter, and although they are polite on the phone, their staff do not seem to have a clue about their service!
I hope they send them since this was the only reason I signed up.
The streaming quality is good (for their HD stuff at least) but their content is quite lacking. They only add about 2 or 3 new titles per month too (according to their customer services) so once you've seen most of the stuff you want to, you'll have a long wait for more films you are interested in!0 -
I agree with you 100%, as for their selection yes it is dated but they still have a lot of video I've not seen. Because of the mess up with the M&S vouchers I too will be ending my subscription.
I'm none too happy with the support or lack of it from this site re the missing vouchers there does not seem to be much movement0 -
Have PM'ed MSE Becca so fingers crossed. I find it strange that the problem with the vouchers has not been investigated and a statement made on this site as I'm not the only one who followed the correct procedure and ended up with no vouchers.
Some people cited using the Chrome browser as a potential issue which I use as I rely on the Google apps heavily! One would have thought the process would have been checked out for all the major browsers. Especially retrospectively now we know there were issues!!0 -
Hi,
We thought there was a problem with our vouchers not arriving too, and we contacted Netflix. The guy was very quick to help on the phone saying he'd contact the relevant department etc and we should get the voucher resent within a few days. While we were waiting, I got my husband to look through his junk mail and it was there!
The vouchers don't come from Netflix themselves but from a different affiliate company which may well get sent straight to your junk/spam folder, so do check there first.
Hope it helps a few people.0 -

Thanks but just to say that my M&S voucher code did indeed come directly from Netflix so there doesn't seem to be a very consistent approach.
Agreed it's always worth checking the spam folder though and I shall certainly do that when I'm looking out for further vouchers in case those don't, in fact, come from Netflix directly in future.0 -
I also signed up with a promise of a £8 M&S voucher for each month of membership. Having waited two months I too got nothing. But what a strange company Netflix is not allowing its customers to contact them by email!0

Have just come off a 20 minute phone call with with Netflix (in America) and was dismayed to be told:
1. They know nothing about my claim for M&S vouchers and suggested I call M&S;
2. If I do want M&S vouchers I should get another member of my household to join Netflix too, then they may get some (I definitely don't want two Netflix accounts - in fact I don't even want one Netflix account now!);
3. They have no office, no address and no email in the UK - just one address in California;
4. They refuse to provide any email address in California or anywhere else to lodge a written complaint.
So my advice if you're thinking of taking up any kind of offer to join Netflix - DON'T. You won't get it, they won't take any responsibility and they will fob you off with "Why not open a second account" and "We don't have a UK office" and "We don't give out email addresses".
Oh and "Have a nice day!"0 -
Hi I was just wondering if anyone had an email address to email Netflix about the vouchers on? Thanks in advance if anyone can help!No buying toiletries 2015 - 1 in

So, in my case:
- Subscribed to Netflix February 9th
- First voucher February 22nd for £8 from no-reply@convertrmedia.com
- Replacement voucher for £10 received from the same address on February 24th
- Credit card billed for first £5.99 March 10th
Nothing else since then.
Anyone knows what is going on? I like the service and I was going to continue using it, but not if they got me to sign up under false pretences.
According to the T&C in the first post I should have got the second £8 voucher before March 24th.0
