Hi
We are struggling like many people to pay our mortgage, I am on ESA and my husband had to give up one of his part time jobs to help care for me so we are down to a part time income and my benefit. We have mortgage payment protection but cannot claim as it is for redundancy, accident & sickness in my husbands name only. I feel we were mis sold this in 1998 as I believe it should have covered a reduced income as well. We are down to less than a third of what his previous wages were. Does anyone think we have a case for this?
thanks

just because a policy doesnt cover a certain event does not make it a mis-sale.Does anyone think we have a case for this?
No.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. They are not financial advice and you should not treat them as such. If you feel an area discussed may be relevant to you, then please seek advice from an Independent Financial Adviser local to you.0 -
PPI is to cover unforseen events like not being able to work after having an accident, sickness or redundancy. Not reducing hours at work or resigning from a job.
The adviser would have sold a policy based on circumstances at the time of the sale.
You dont have a case in the slightest.0
