Trying to start up my laptop but getting message: windows could not start because the fopllowing files are corrupt or missing: Windows\system32\config\system.
Any ideas of a fix ,I dont have start up cd.
It was ok last night and havn't downloaded anything.

try safe mode (f8) at bootup, and then run start, run
chkdsk c: /F/R

your registry/disk is corrupt, so you are going to have to get hold of a XP? CD or boot disk to fix it.
