My phone is due to be eligible for an upgrade soon. It's a iphone 4. I am thinking of having a change and getting a blackberry.

I would like however like to stay on the same tariff etc and keep my number.

Will vodafone give me a new sim and keep the tariff the same?. if so would the old sim still work in my iphone, so for instance if i didn't like the blackberry i could use the iphone instead?

Have you actually bothered to speak to Vodafone and ask? Look around and see what offers there are. I'm sure you would have a better value contract paying less for the same and/or more.

It depends on contracts etc. If you simply purchase a blackberry, you can then request a normal sized sim card to fit in the Blackberry. BUT you will not be able to switch between iphone and blackberry with the same sim. Therefore if you didn't like the blackberry and wanted to go back to the iphone you would either have to cut the sim down to size, or ask voda for another micro sim. You may or may not get lucky, you may or may not have to pay.
Your old micro sim would be dead, defunct, unsuable, disabled etc, so you couldn't just throw that back in.

If your contract is up, and you were on a special deal, half price etc then usually that deal ends with the contract and you automatically revert back to what the contract should've been. If you wish to continue on what you have now you need to talk to vodafone about it. If you're at the end, you might need to sign up on a new contract to get blackberry phone.

By and by, if you stay on the same tarrif, you may actually need to pay a bit extra because of subscribing to blackberry srevices (I don't know if you can get those free from voda)

Best advice is to phone them up and ask about it.
