Annoying parking fine

Hi

V annoyed, just received notification of a parking fine, however I paid for it.

I just had to nip into the shop, for some change, Im must have been 10 mins max, then bought a ticket (the machine was one where you had to enter your car reg), then left the car park.

Do you think I should challenge?

    ""however I paid for it.""

Does this mean you paid up for the fine/invoice? If so its too late, that's the last you'll see of the money.
If it means you paid for the parking then Trisontana's post applies.
I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.

eeh, who are you trying to kid.

You left the car, went into the shop, bought something, went out, bought a ticket (why) then left.
Nobody in their right mind would do that

You should have got some change, bought the ticket, put it on the car, then shopping.

    If its private, ignore it

If its council, unless there is an error on it, you dont have a leg to stand on...........

How exactly do you suggest getting change from a shop without buying anything ?

Where does it ask you to send this "fine" payment to:
Calm down, read VERY carefully the question and answer the exact question asked as quickly as possible.
    We can help.

Well, you go into the shop, ask if they can change a note for some change for the parking machine, that's it. Ive never had a problem doing that. It's a lot faster than going round the shop then paying and risking getting a ticket.

If you just answer the question as to whether it was private or council, it neednt go much further than someone telling you to ignore the ticket if it was private.

IME an awful lot of shops will refuse to give you change - unless you buy something and it was the introduction of ticket machines that didn't give change that prompted this.

Anyway, we are not here to question this young lady's actions. Just to give her good advice as to her predicament.

Claire, was it a Council or was it some private company you got this ticket from?

Without going through the posts again, she has been asked the same question, private or council 3 times at least and still hasnt answered the question.
