Prepayment charges

A very quick question:

I have both gas and electic prepayment meters with British Gas. If I use the "emergency credit", is it charged at a higher rate than the usual?

No, it is at the same rate. Debt repayments are not recovered whilst you are in the emergency but will be charged once you top-up so try and avoid using the emergency as it will appear that you have more credit than you think when you next top-up.
