Advice re: PPI HFC, EGG etc

Hi, i'm looking for some advice about who to go to, to claim our PPI back.

Basically a fair few years ago ( can't remember exactly when at the moment ) we transferred a HP agreement on to a credit card with beneficial finance ( HFC ).

We were mis sold the PPI, they pressured us into it, told us we couldn't get the card without it but assured us we would be better off doing the balance transfer. We didn't really want the PPI but the meeting with them was face to face and the lady dealing with us kept us there ages ( had our young child with us ) and then involved her manager who plied on the pressure also and so eventually we agreed.

We were paying this for years at minimum payments and never really making a dent in the balance, then we were offered an egg card on 0% and did another balance transfer but egg were also taking PPI.

Recently Egg have been taken over by barclay card and they continue to take PPI even though I am not currently working and my Husband is now self employed.

We are about to embark on a DMP and in the process of that we have heard about reclaiming PPI.

So, my questions are who do we contact, HFC, Egg or Barclay Card or all 3? and how do we go about reclaiming etc

TIA for any help with this.

lollipop.

    Hi there

Wishing you luck on your reclaiming.
Normally it would be the ones who sat there with you (the business) that sold you the account.

My view on this would be that if EGG are taken over, then you would pursue Barclays, as they would have to investigate the complaint, because they taken over the responsibilities as well to what I know of.
However, if you want to cover all ground, there is no harm in sending the other one a copy of your reclaiming complaint, by completing a reclaim questionnaire as on step 3 below, keep copies as well for yourself in case you need to go back to them at some point.
One of them are going to be responsible here, so it's up to you if you want to write to all.

    Good luck.
