Posting outside the UK

Hello hello

I was just hoping some of you kind bods would be able to give me some advice on selling goods through ebay and posting internationally.

I always get proof of posting when selling items but have previously only posted to addresses within the UK.

More and more frequently, buyers are asking if I can post to addresses outside the UK (Greece, Germany to name a few).

I just feel a bit wary of that. What precautions should I take and is obtaining proof of postage enough? How do I assess costs? Any help would be gratefully received.

Thanks

Lixi

It all depends on the value of your items. Things to check:

    - Mobile phones over £32 aren't insurable by RM, full stop.
    - Check what amount your method of posting insures you for.
    - If you accept paypal, send via trackable means for expensive items. Airsure is good.
    - If accepting paypal, ideally you should send to confirmed addresses. Transactions from outside the UK / US / Canada aren't eligible for seller protection. If possible, get them to pay via IBAN / BIC bank transfer. More info here:

I post to Europe, no offence but the US is a pain. I only send internationally signed for (within Europe) if its a more expensive item, very expensive items I only post to UK confirmed addresses. I can't think of any problems I've with selling to Europe, most pay straight away and are polite in their communications.
