Mint Credit Card (RBoS)

Hello, I wondered if anybody could provide any feedback of recent claims for reclaiming PPI sold with a credit card issued by Mint?
The complaint is being handled by Royal Bank of Scotland.
I have had an initial letter advising that they are looking in to it in the usual manner.
I just wondered whether anybody has recently succeeded or failed on a credit card claim with Mint and can give any feedback on how it was handled and how long the claims process actually took, because there don't seem to be any up to date posts concerning Mint credit cards in particular.
Thanks in advance.

Hello there
I have not had any direct dealings with them myself but am aware of successes and non-successes, just like them all really, but if they do not uphold in your favour, you need to keep at them, let us know how you get on and we can take it from there.
Try not to worry, the best of luck.;)
If you've not done so yet, check the above success thread (a long thread, but I expect you will come across lots of posts in regards of this bank). The one and only "Dizzy Di"

Hi, thanks for your reply.
I searched the success and failures forums and couldn't find much at all about Mint, and certainly not anything recent.
If anybody has had any recent experiences with claims on Mint CC's your feedback would be appreciated.0 -
Good evening, this is my first post here!
I opened a PPI claim at the beginning of December 2011 on the Mastercard I have had with Mint since early 1999. I used a company called Premier Claims Plus, lazy I know but didn't fancy the hassle of doing it myself.
Anyway, 2 weeks ago, I received notification my claim was successful and a handsome payment is to be awarded.
They say I will receive payment within 28 days, nothing as of yet however. I have been reading elsewhere of delays in receiving monies owed, somebody waiting for 50 days etc.
Getting a little impatient, but happy that I'm being rewarded0 -
Im in the middle of my claim, just waiting for a response letter after they have investigated my complaint.
Tell you one thing I found them very hard work :mad:0 -
Hmm interesting feedback, thanks guys. I am currently about 6 weeks in with no contact other than the standard acknowledgement letter. Hopefully I will have heard back from them within the 8 weeks promised.
I'll update this thread in due course, so that we can build up some more recent feedback between us!0 -
I have had success today with RBS Mint. I submitted my claim by post on 1 February, received standard acknowledgement a week later. I had no supporting documentation to back up my claims, or proof that I had been paying it on my account. Then 2 weeks ago, I found a dust-covered box in my attic, and found a years' worth of old statements, which showed I was paying PPI.
I sent them off, but had not received any acknowledgement, so I called them today, to be told they have upheld my complaint, on the grounds that, due to the application being made in 1996, they have no documentation to defend against my complaint, and were refunding in full - am expecting an offer of just over £6,000! Am totally thrilled.0 -
Delighted to report back with an update, having spoken with RBS today. They have written to me today advising that they are upholding my complaint. I will be reimbursed £5010 which will clear the balance and leave some left over. The whole investigation took 7 weeks from the initial phone call.0

Hi, well done to all who have claimed back.
I had 5000 on a card back in 2005 and recall paying 40 ish a month but i dont think that I ticked the box. I never needed it and cant understand that when i wrote to them to ask for my credit agreement the mob was filled in.
I think it was done online, however these companies that claim for you have said that it is still worth persuing a claim even though the box had been ticked.
Do I need to write and ask them for proof of evidence that i ticked the box?. And argue my case that way?.Am sure its a fair whack of money I paid out!0 -
Mine was an online purchase too melbarr35.
I didn't write to them. I phoned to ask that they reviewed the circumstances of the sale of this insurance as I could not imagine why I would have actively requested it unless I thought it was mandatory given that I had adequate cover in place for sickess, accident etc etc. Geniunely could not recall the circs so asked them to look into them for me.
No further info was requested from me and 8 weeks later I had a response. This only gave the reason that they were upholding it because of the time it had taken them to investigate it - ie. no real admission of liaibility but full refund of premiums, APR paid plus the 8% (less the tiny bit of the 8% they deduct for the tax man).
So my advice to you would be to phone them and give your own reasons, as I did, because you may not have to enter into lengthy correspondence. I don't have the number to hand but you will find it on the RBS website I'm sure.0
