Does anyone have any idea how much Computeach charge for their courses? Im interested in the Web Design or Networking courses.
I don't want to go through the only process because you have to give them a phone number and I don't want to be bombarded with calls!

I would just be very wary of any training provider who, on their website, gave so little information about the actual content of a course never mind no indication whatsover of the cost or even provide a pdf brochure which could be easily downloaded from their website.
There are certainly a lot of complaints about them if you google.
Have you tried phoning the 0845 number to see if you can simply provide an email address?
There's also an email address (info@ computeach. co.uk) you could try.0 -
I looked into it 3 years ago. They were very, very expensive then. (thousands). Once they had my details, they did keep calling me. It might be cheaper and better for you to do a course through a local college - adult education classes - your council or local college usually does a leaflet of all courses they provide and where they are held. I'm sure someone will be along with more info x0

I agree with rosered1963. My husband signed up years ago and he would have been miles better off doing classes - both in terms of what he learned and cost.
We've learned to put that wasted money down to experience.0 -
There are no prices because they do not charge per course, they charge for a study period, so depending on your knowledge and experience and how much time you can dedicate to your studies a course will cost everybody varying amounts. The cost for 12 months of study is around £1800 but that includes everything. If you are good at studying from home and are motivated it's a great option because you can get a lot for your money but if you are one of these people that find it hard to study or stick at things once you have started I would avoid this because you'll pay the same amount per year regardless of how much of the course you do or exams you take. I got a lot of calls from them but if you ask them to remove your details they will be very nice about it and stop calling. if you are seriously interested give them a call, you've got nothing to lose.0

Hi there, my most sincere advice is simply don't do it. Don't give them your number because they WILL bombard you with calls. If you do sign up, you will have a year to complete the course and you will get no guidance. You will receive ONE book and nothing else until you pass an exam then you will get another book. The forums are as dead as the proverbial doormouse for certain certifications. The professional advice you will get from tutors will mostly consist of telling you to visit third party sites such as the codeproject.com where you can get great advice for free. I have just wasted £1800 on these crooks. So please take it from me, avoid them like the plague.

Take a look at a bunch of adverts for IT jobs. Most do not ask for qualifications (especially those relating to programming / web design etc). They ask for knowledge and ability, not pieces of paper with your name on them.
Save £4000 by buying the appropriate books and teaching yourself.
A friend has just done one of their courses. He effectively taught himself, but paid about £1500 for the privilege.
If you need to do any exams, you can register for them yourself.
They will promise you amazing careers support. You can get this for free too elsewhere.
There are numerous forums on the net from which you can get all the expert technical advice you will ever need, and for free. This is what I did.
If you do have one of their salesmen round (or advisors as I think they call them), I would suggest you record the entire meeting so you have a record of any promises made regarding course quality, training materials, support etc. This should not be a problem for the salesman if he only intends to tell you the truth.
If he/she refuses to allow the conversation to be recorded, then ask them to leave.
Since most of the complaints about them centre around poor training, poor materials and poor support, a recording of their salesman telling you the opposite will be very useful should you be unhappy with the course you have paid a lot of money for.0 -
You would be better off contacting your local college about information on MCP / MCSE courses they will be far better than any course on computeach, there are usuallky some form of funding towards it which the college will advise you of.
I did this the 2nd time i done my MCSE (miscroft certified service engineer) which usually is a £4500 course but only paid £1000 for it and luckily enough got the £1000 sponsored by my company also the exam fees are included which for 7 exams at £75 per exam could be quite costly aswell, only downfall is that it is based over 2 years and attending college 2 evening a week, but you intend to learn slower which means it tends to go in better and stay there.
When i come to upgrading my quals again i will certainly be doing it via my local college again.0 -
looked into these years back. They phoned, told me a man would come to my house and talk about the course.
Right at the very end, he quoted £5k. I thought ok, get lost0 -

i can say for sure that the course will cost you something like 140 pounds per month over 12 months - theyve changed from there extortionate prices of 3000 pounds for a set period to a monthly direct debit system. but you think that the 12 months you sign up for is a fixed period and the money they take from you will stop after that time, it aint and it doesnt!
there contracts automatically renew and they continue to take money form you after the 12 months has finished. its happened to loads of other people out there, just see other complaining forums. if you decide to go with them, and I would be very careful, then cancel your direct debit as you reach the 12 months cause theyll keep taking your money:mad:.0 -
I have done the same course in networking as now working as linux administrator in my company. I gave $195 for 3 months. They taught me good enough as per my expectation. Try to find a registered institute for your networking course.0
