balance transfer help

i have got my o/h a new credit card coming and its 0% so have set up the balance transfer. however the transfer was set up for £1700 and as she has taken some things back to shops the actual balance is now about £50 less than that, is this going to stop the transfer going through does anyone know? thank you

It shouldn't stop it, no. A lot of cards allow positive balances. However, it will only take 2 minutes to phone them and ask, and if there's a problem, they will usually rectify it over the phone if, as a take from your post, the transfer hasn't actually been initiated yet.0

no she has just had the email confirming the card etc yesterday so could be a little wait yet and another week till the card arrives. its the first transfer either of us have ever done so just unsure of how things work!£18 for my old mobile.

Like I say then, the best thing to do is phone them and ask. I wouldn't personally have thought there would be a problem, but if there is, they will rectify it over the phone as the transfer hasn't been done yet.0

The transfer will still go through - new card won't know the balance on the old account they simply make the payment. Old card won't refuse the payment.
She could either spend the £50 odd quid again on the old card, or if she closes the old account they'll probably send her the £50 as a refund (by cheque or to her bank direct).A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0
