Hi and welcome
So what you have done up to now is ask for the agreement of the account but not actually made a reclaim by sending in a reclaim questionnaire.
I would just continue to make a reclaim, the reclaim questionnaire is step 3 of the reclaiming below, send to whoever responsible for selling you the account and keep a copy in case you need to refer back to it again at some point.
If the account is no longer active they may not any longer hold the details of the agreement, but if the account was still active within the last 6 years, they should hold enough details in order for them to investigate, or otherwise they may just send you an offer which will be ok too, if there is no details on an older account held anymore.

Barclays have got the impression that you have requested details under the Consumer credit act as an attempt to complaint about unenforceable credit. As they cannot find your agreement, they have no choice but to suspend the card until a new agreement is put in place.
If you wish to continue using the card, you need to ask them for a replacement agreement. You also need to tell them that you are not looking to complain about unenforceable credit but complain about PPI. You dont need any agreement to make a complaint about PPI. Hence why they suspect you may be looking to get out of your debt.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only.
