When should I chase up PPI claim?

Hi, sorry the title should be 'where' should I chase PPI claim!

I sent a letter about 3 weeks ago to the mortgage broker who I believe miss-sold MPPI to us several years ago. I've not had any acknowledgement that they have received and are looking at my claim. When I investigate a bit further it looks like they are no longer in business (no longer authorised by the FSA) and the telephone numbers I have for them are either unobtainable or a repeat prescription service!

Where can I go from here if anywhere? The policy was arranged by Capital Mortgage Connections (the broker) and the policy was with D & D Homecare Limited and administered by Adminicle Ltd.

Thanks in advance.

The company no longer exists. It was dissolved in November 2009.

When did you take the cover out and why do you think it was missold.
  • We took the cover out when we remortgaged in June 2004. There was a PPI policy of £4340 that was added onto the mortgage. We weren't really aware of the repercussions of this at the time and there were no discussions about alternative payment methods or even of us shopping around for a policy of our own. It was a case of here is the mortgage offer, here is the amount of PPI, sign there. We also didn't realise that it was only a 5 year policy, but of course the mortgage was taken out for 20 years. When my husband was made redundant not long ago, of course the policy had expired.
  • Bumping this.

Can anyone please advise what I should do regarding this PPI claim? Would the FSCS be an option for me as the broker who sold me the PPI is no longer in business?

    Thanks

Regulation and FSCS protection only started in 2005. So, you have no-one to complain to.

Single premium is wrong. So, you were mis-sold. Timing is the problem.
