I do hope it all goes well for you. Lurchers are such lovely, loving dogs.:D

Thanks, but i dont think the new one is lurcher, his face seems to be alsatian and front half possibly lab, but his back half is either really thin or the typical greyhound back.
I really hope it works as well, OH has called to say he is just wandering round today and wont settle but i imagine its the first day without me or my daughter being in the house and it will take a few weeks for him to know he is safe.

Since all a lurcher is is a sighthound crossed with anything else - he would still be one! The shaggy dog bit is purely optional! At least you can have hours of fun down the vet playing the game of "ok guess what breeds are in this one"... a game one of mine knows only too well (our best guess being GSD, Collie, some unspecified terrier and possibly a splash of Rotty to season)!

For the pedantically inclined among us - a sighthound crossed with another sighthound (so something like a greyXsaluki) is a longdog.

Bless him - he's got really long bony toes like my grey has.

I'd quite recommend the "Dermacton" cream by Aromesse, I used it when my GSD gave himself a lick granuloma

Sorry to hijack OP, but quick question for krlyr - just wondering if the dermacton is an over the counter med and can you get it on the high street? Mutt keeps giving herself lick granulomas (silly sod) and I keep a tube of fuciderm handy just in case, but it does seem to make her itch and lick all the more. I used to put it on before a walk to distract her, but now she's not really walking it's no sooner on than slurped off again.

Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.

I ordered it online, it's not prescription stuff but not sure if it's available on the highstreet. It arrived very quickly in the post though :)

Sounds like my pair - the bed that the other dog wants is always the most desirable! They can spend an entire evening playing musical beds quite happily.
