Sending Faster Payment to Tesco Credit Card

Not long had a Tesco Credit Card & have just sent my first payment to them using faster payment from my Halifax. I set up the payment using the info on the back of the statement, that said sort code 83-66-15, & to use account no 00000000, with my card number as reference. When I was setting it up with Halifax, I searched Tesco & it gave me an option for mastercards starting 518652 (which mine does) but the account number was 98390608 not 00000000. I didn't use that one, and created my own using the details off the back of the statement with 00000000 as the account number. I sent the payment & it said my payment had been succesfully sent but they couldn't confirm that it had been received by Tesco. I'm panicking now that I should have used the account number Halifax suggested. Does anyone else use faster payments to Tesco? What account number do you use??

Well....

I used these details when sending from Nationwide.

Sort code: 83-66-15
Account number: 98390608

Ref = CC number.

Can't remember where I got them from. It did go through same day. (It might have been a couple of days later before I saw it on my Tesco account though, but the credit was back dated.)

I wouldn't panic, if you have used information provided by Tesco then even if they payment doesn't arrive as expected you have the perfect reason for getting them to resolve it. However, I suspect both numbers will work, 836615 is a Tesco Personal Finance sortcode so the payment will be in the right place.

Thanks. I've spoken to Halifax & they said its because it was over £500. Apparently faster payment can only be processed for payments under £500?

I tend to disagree here, I have paid £1000 a number of times from Halifax and it went through as a Faster Payment.

Even there website states it is up to £25,000; click the below link and look at middle tab

Panic over. Checked my Tesco card on Saturday & it had gone in. Phew!
