Hi all, im going to say sorry in advance because if the lack of info i can provide
I had a £95k mortgage and a £10 unsecured loan to buy a house in 2007 (all sorted through a financial advisor), am i eligible to claim for ppi?
It was sorted through northern rock, but been as i have since sold the house and paid the negative equity off, i no longer have any paperwork, i dont even know if i paid ppi in the first place! i have also have a few low value loans, (£1k ish a piece) from lloyds tsb, and the odd bit from capital one, but again, i dont know if i even paid ppi on these loans!
What would be my next step if i could, or can i even claim it back?
I dont want to employ a solicitor, and him tell mei have no claim, then charge me a fortune
Thanks for any info provided.. jono

You havent said what reasons for complaint you feel you have. The PPI issue is mainly a bank and shops issue. ie.. sold by unqualified and unregulated staff with sales bonuses. Advised sales have far fewer issues. Not perfect but when the UKs largest adviser network and compliance company (with a third of advisers part of it) only has 11 complaints on PPI at the FOS in the last 6 months of 2011, you can appreciate that its not exactly a big thing for advisers. What would be my next step if i could, or can i even claim it back?
First thing would be to tell us what your complaint is.I dont want to employ a solicitor, and him tell mei have no claim, then charge me a fortune
A solicitor wouldnt take it on. This is an FSA issue. Not a legal one. Lenders have been winning in the courts.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. They are not financial advice and you should not treat them as such. If you feel an area discussed may be relevant to you, then please seek advice from an Independent Financial Adviser local to you.0
