Renewables: "talking 'bout my generation"

1 year down, 24 to go!
Original system got 15 today, closing year 1 on 2,779.
Targets, SAP approx 2,600, PVGIS classic approx 2,700, PVGIS climate approx 2,900.
In reality, the 1.2kWp system wasn't actually switched on for another 2 weeks, while I got some canopy brackets made. The larger 2.4kWp system hit 100, when it was switched on, so I think I can add another 50.
Most months between 90% and 110%, apart from June which was exceptional and cost about 70 units.
So all in all, pretty much spot on against average, which I'm very pleased with given some seasonal tree shading, and a large chimney in the middle of the semi-detached roof to the south of the systems.
Gross return on investment of 11.5% (excluding leccy savings and cost of capital).
Import down from approx 2,700 to approx 1,700. Single tariff with 3 yr price fix of 14.4p, so £144 savings on top.
No complaints, no surprises. Lots of fun and educational to boot.
Martyn from Cardiff.Mart. Cardiff. 8.72 kWp PV systems (2.12 SSW 4.6 ESE & 2.0 WNW). 20kWh battery storage. Two A2A units for cleaner heating. Two BEV's for cleaner driving.

17.22kWh today
Due to send my reading to Eon next week
Hoping to get over 1400kWh for my 3rd quarter:D
Total output up to now is 2618kWh
Need another 82kWh as of now, to make 1400kWh so, if the sun stays out, I might do it
Don't want to steal yer thunder, your average per kWh system is 654.5 to date, mine is 729.0:rotfl:

Eric's rule of weather forecasting: If you keep saying "tomorrow might be better than today", one day you'll be correct.
Today's generation was 21.88kWh. By far the best day this month (so far) and around 65% better than pvgis would have me believe is typical for an August day.
Afraid I'm still a tad disappointed though - there were quite a few clouds scudding about and instead of a nice "normal distribution" curve I've got a lot of unwanted troughs.
Still, £10+ isn't bad earnings for a day doing nothing.:beer:NE Derbyshire.4kWp S Facing 17.5deg slope (dormer roof).24kWh of Pylontech batteries with Lux controller BEV : Hyundai Ioniq50 -

22.4 for Thur. Wall to wall sun all day. Far cry from May with morning to evening sun hitting 27/28. Pity it all gets exported bar a single washing machine [timer] and DHW [ashp]...PAH!
Hoping the morning cloud burns off for another good day0 -

Does the storage tank incorporate an ordinary immersion coil?
There is not much point in putting the electricity through a heat pump, with a CoP for the jump to hot water temperatures of 2.x, if your inverter is delivering (say) 3kW free to the immersion (ie the importing meter is stationary).
I have a nasty feeling that over voltage on the grid turned off my inverter for half an hour yesterday around mid day, according to the daily generation graph. If it was not over voltage, it could have been overheating of the inverter; but I did catch the mains reading 254.9v at about 11:00 BST.
Total Thursday generation 16.35kWh, in part due to fog until 10:30.0 -

10.57 today0 -
Slightly better today, 9.48kWh, but still some cloud. Forecast tomorrow is uninterrupted sunshine so hope to make double figures.2kWp Solar PV - 10*200W Kioto, SMA Sunny Boy 2000HF, SSE facing, some shading in winter, 37° pitch, installed Jun-2011, inverter replaced Sep-2017 AND Feb-2022.0
