Hi Shafeeq,
that seems a little on the low side mate,My 1.96kwh system returned 9.93 today in N derbyshire,i also work in sheffield near don valley and the weathers been glorious nearly all day

Two more days when weathermen's predictions seemed a little conseravative ! Forecast for both days was mainly dull with odd sunny interval; actual weather for both was mainly sunny with occasional cloudy spells.

Hi
Like yesterday 7.90kwh
Shafeeq0 -
Just pipped yesterdays total with 12.23kWh today
Very unsettled with sun and clouds.
Hit 3.2kWh at 2.00pm:D and down to 0.8kWh an 2.30pm:(16 Sanyo Hit 250s.4kWp SMA 3.8kWp inverter. SW roof. 28° pitch. Minimal shade. Nov 2011 install. Hybrid car. Ripple Kirk Hill. N.E Lincs Coast.0 -
Well nearly a week in now of E+W, and it's looking good. Got 15 & 6 yesterday (targets 12 + 6 respectively).
Shocked at the overlap of the two systems which I didn't really think would come close to 3.68kW, but on the days of good weather I've seen upto 4.2kW sustained from 12.30 to 3pm as one system fades and the other grows. Presumably that will be higher around late June (depending on air temp).
Still not entirely clear how a 2kWp system facing WNW can generate 1,200W+ at 1.15pm (BST) when the sun is really only shining on the edge of the top frame and 'skimming' down the panels from behind, and 1 panel is totally in shade from the chimney?
Poor little Shadey (I haven't got round to naming the other 7 yet) was only generating 29W yesterday at 2pm, when the other 7 where generating between 167W and 172W. This is getting way too addictive!
The neighbours like the black on black panels (over black slates), one even asked what the scaffolding was for AFTER the panels had been installed. LOL.
Thanks to the poor weather, I still haven't seen a sub 100kWh import month. July closed at 101kWh, despite only using 4 units in the last 3 days (wow!). So far averaging 3/day with the bad Aug weather, hopefully that'll improve dramatically if the weather does similar. Last year we averaged only 2.5/day (after the install) for the last 20 days of Aug.
Mart.Mart. Cardiff. 8.72 kWp PV systems (2.12 SSW 4.6 ESE & 2.0 WNW). 20kWh battery storage. Two A2A units for cleaner heating. Two BEV's for cleaner driving.
For general PV advice please see the PV FAQ thread on the Green & Ethical Board.0 -
Back from hols so finally able to update for July vs PVGIS - amazingly I beat it by 2% (218.22kWh), incredible considering how atrocious the weather was for most of July, saved by the last 10 days or so, just like May.2kWp Solar PV - 10*200W Kioto, SMA Sunny Boy 2000HF, SSE facing, some shading in winter, 37° pitch, installed Jun-2011, inverter replaced Sep-2017 AND Feb-2022.0

Hi
Slight better today and best of the month........... 10.04 kwh
Shafeeq0 -
8.7kWh today, early reading but sky is dull, inverter showing 48W so might be time to turn it off and save power at 19:15.:rotfl:Ooops, sun has just re-appeared now showing 500W at 19:20. :j Will put this post on hold until later figures arrive......21:00 final number 8.8kWh an extra 5p.
If anyone has looked at my last post with link noticed that the bottom graph shows a higher reading for Nov. than the top one; the top one is a true monthly reading. The average one below, accounts for the system install on the 22nd of Nov. 2011. Hence, a good average for a 8 day month in November 2011; and a low one for the current month of Aug. being only 3 days in.2.5 kWp PV system, SSW facing, 45 Deg Roof.
