Martyn...you say if it under performs I can refer back to the company...is this something I can do then? I did contact REAL and other regulatory bodies when I saw the 3 orientations, and they gave me some advice. The company came out to see me the next day and showed me similar to the Pvgis website and he had quoted slightly under some of the stats as he said my situation wasn't ideal...which I sort of realised when companies weren't really bothered with pushing a sale...like I've said, my roof is sealed with foam underneath and all the hips and limited space left some thinking it was more trouble than it was worth to them...like I said, a projected 1.5 day install became a 4 day job.

*Can anyone think of a more appropriate word, maybe volume? Unit usually refers to 1000 Wh.

Nothing wrong with 'amount' but if you want another why not 'quantity' ?

Luckily, there's a free one available to all. It's a big yellow thing which hovers due South at (true) noon - though alas is seldom seen at this time of year:mad:

True Noon depends on where you live. If you happen to be in the London Borough of Greenwich it's at exactly 12:00 (or 13:00 BST). For anywhere else not on the Greenwich Meridian, find your local Noontime from longitude - it will be 4mins after 12:00 GMT for every degree you are West of GM (or of course 4mins before for every degree East - not that there are a lot of places apart from E Kent) very far E)

Weatherman was spot on here on the N.E.Coast.
Really strong winds, this evenings high tide over 2 metres higher than normal. Repeat performance for AM and PM tides tomorrow.
Hope everyone is safe and well.

Only 0.84 O's for me today.....Originally had 10 panels on me roof, now got 11; one must have been blown on from some where: any tips on how I can wire it in?...:rotfl:

Definition of 'O's = kWh/kWp (kWh = your daily & accurate Generation figure) (kWp = the rated output of your PV Panels).

    Hi Martyn

I have replied to your 2 fabulous PM's.. Thanks so much. Re the Company, they have been fairly straight and rang me again tonight..some details in the pm to you...such poor weather, I can't see me doing anywhere near even the projection for December, but reassured to see you and your mega system fared not much better today. I will just have to be patient and get on that steep learning curve! Thanks again...and I have hit the green ticks after posts!

    Regards

God, this is going to take over my life! Anyway, the sky is thick cloud here in Runcorn today so the panels have not even raised a sleepy head as yet.

Thanks for the info. People on here really are fabulous for information no solar company ever told me.

    Jan,
Have a look at http://www.suncalc.net/#/53.3421,-2.7297,12/2012.12.06/15:45 Put in your correct address, and you will see what time the sun hits whatever sides of your roof you have your panels..... don't faff around with compass readings etc..... coffee.gif
