Not thrilling here either though we have had quite a few sunny spells this week.

    October total: 173.94 kWh
    PVGIS: 197 kWh
    So 23% short of expectations

    October 2011: 246 (25% excess)
    October 2012: 230 (17% excess)

    Shouldn't that be 12(11.7)% short?

Not as bad as you think?

I'm 11% down on PVGIS for the month, £15 down.

    Can live with that :o
  • The BBC weather centre is now disagreeing with itself! On this page it states Mansfield will be dry throughout Friday's daylight hours yet play the video and it's rain all day!
What happened to that comment about Oscar having 'small array syndrome'? I thought it quite amusing; surely it wasn't moderated?

I know what you mean KS. I use the site every day to base my decision of whether to use my motorbike on the day, throw it down...forget it, but today, I get an extra hour of dryness in comparison to you yet like your area the video shows rain nearly all day.

Worse still, there's some serious roadworks on my commute to work which if I go in the car puts an extra half hour on my journey.

Talk about dilemma......now where's my water proofs:(

Quite right ! I read the wrong column in my spreadsheet. Luckily I'd woken up by the time I looked up previous years.:D

& BTW, the BBC web page seldom agrees with the forecasts read out on telly !

All goes to confirm my theory that all forecasts are computer generated by patching in random sentences from the olden days when they had real forecasters

  • October results: “Only” 8% worse than last year; must have had a poor autumn last year too. Sunshine farming harvest is continuing to fall behind 2012 though my final crop will be gathered in about 3 weeks after Lady Day, not the traditional Michaelmas.

Damn it, the video was right and I got absolutely drenched on way home:rotfl:

Worse still, when I got home at 3.15pm it was raining that hard that both my inverters had shut down early for the day:eek:. I didn't even dare look at the generation:mad:

Reg. for FIT Nov 2011. "It's not what you generate; it's how you use it that matters". One very clean Vauxhall Diesel Sri, £30.00 Road Tax: B)

Definition of 'O's = kWh/kWp (kWh = your daily & accurate Generation figure) (kWp = the rated output of your PV Panels).
