Seeing all those waves breaking prompted me (1) to visit the loo and (2) to compare this year's solar panel performance with last year's.
(My 'solar' year runs from the end of July) so:
1/8/11 - 31/7/12
3746kW/h =127% of PVGIS average daily 'O' value = 3.119
1/8/12 - 31/7/13
3453kW/h =117% of PVGIS average daily 'O' value = 2.875
So this year (to 1st August) does seem to have been less productive than last year.
Incidentally, does the community yet have a word for an annual average daily 'O' value?
If not , I suggest, like Winnie the Pooh, that we name it after me. It's an OG.
The formula would be [total annual generation] divided by [kWp] divided by [365]

...Oh, and one figure I forgot to add is the ROCE =12.4%pa (not including the value of power generated and used, which is now much closer to 100% than it was...)O G  Somewhere on the South Downs

As this is the general gathering of wisdom on things PV (apologies for not keeping up with my O's etc) - has anyone else had a notification from their FIT admin of a new regulation requiring generators (i.e. us) to keep records of meter readings and payments for 12 months from submission. This is supposedly due to a change in the law but a quick google round Ofgem etc suggests only a letter consulting on this as a requirement. Is there such a regulation or is this EDF going off on one again?Adventure before Dementia!0

Why would you need to keep records, when you submit readings your FIT provider will have a record of every reading given. I really don't think the government would allow them to just pay out w*lly nilly and keep no records.
As a footnote I do keep records of readings and payments, unfortunately the reason for mine is a bit more in depth due to a screw up by my FIT provider. Dare say others on here will do it because they like to keep a tab on their returns and usage.
3.5 O's today. Water butt filling up lovely as well2 kWp SEbE , 2kWp SSW & 2.5kWp NWbW.....in sunny North Derbyshire17.7kWh Givenergy battery added(for the power hungry kids)0 -
The premise behind this apparently is the concern that at some stage a FIT admin supplier might cease to have a supply licence - at which point you'd need to be able to switch to a new supplier and get your FiT payments from them. If the original admin had say gone bust, you might need to have your last paid meter reading so as to be able to establish where you'd been paid up to.
Its not a big deal and probably sensible anyway for the reasons above - EDF send a confirmation email back saying what the supplied meter reading is so just keeping those emails should be sufficient. Just wondering whether it was something other suppliers had raised yet as it requires a change to your statement of terms.Adventure before Dementia!0 -
Hello peeps. Got a bit fed up waiting for the Met Office to update their anomaly maps. In fact, they haven't even done July's yet!
So I found these instead, and thought they were interesting:
http://kilowattsol.com/en/irradiationanomaly
I got 131% of target in July, which would appear to fit the map. June and August look good too.
Mart.Mart. Cardiff. 8.72 kWp PV systems (2.12 SSW 4.6 ESE & 2.0 WNW). 20kWh battery storage. Two A2A units for cleaner heating. Two BEV's for cleaner driving.

My records are recorded on here if they want to check the readings... and add them up.......:rotfl:
My payments are on my Bank statement, that's enough..;).
I do keep one or two other records in me bin though, just in case our lot do what the Spanish Gov. have done; ie. Scrapped the original 25 yr contracts and put everyone on an €0.18 per kWh rate from the €0.48 they were on before....they are now going to the EU Courts I believe......bet Georgee boy will try that before they get thrown out......
From the 31st August todate 38.48 O's.... what's that in Hawaii's?....5. A fistfull of Hawaii's !
