Had a quick look at my meter today, and since having my PV installed on the 15th August I've had a return about a fiver short of the annual interest for the cash ISA from which I took the money to pay for the system! That's including losing an unpaid 70 units before I could get registered, and without allowing for the electricity I've used. No gas consumption at all in that period and I'm importing about 2kwh a day. When I buy myself a small freezer I'll increase my base load a little and use some more of my own production.
Has anyone put their freezer on a timeswitch?0 -

As I am on "Economy 7" my chest freezer has been on a time switch for years.
Obviously no point in having it turned on for 3 or 4 hours before the half price electricity switches on, or for the few hours after the cheap Economy 7 turns off, before the roof panels start generating a serious surplus. .0
