Why make dozens or more (rather than One) do the maths for you? Just laziness ? If, for an example, you compare a massive UK land-based PV farms output in O's it would probably show you how it levels the playing field of results; simples...:)...Completely agree !
The 'raw' O is completely useless as a means of comparing two different systems. It takes no account of where the property is, the direction(s) in which the panels are pointing or local shade conditions. Far more useful would be a system that expressed output as a fraction of the PVGIS forecast for that day (even that month would be some help) 2.5 kWp PV system, SSW facing, 45 Deg Roof. As long as it's just for fun then please carry on enjoying it. But if someone else gets twice the Os that you do, then you'll have absolutely no idea whether that was because theirs are less shady than yours, theirs pointed directly at Sun at peak generation time, they live in a sunnier district than you or one of your cats has been sat on the panels all day.
But they got twice the O's that I did, so you just successfully compared them. Result.
You seem to think that the result is invalid, if it's due to a multitude of fixed and varying factors ...... yet it's still a result, and we can enjoy comparing them.
Just like comparing 0-60 times of different cars, they may have a multitude of differences, but that is what creates the result/comparison, it doesn't invalidate it.
But most important, don't worry, it's just a bit of fun.Mart. Cardiff. 8.72 kWp PV systems (2.12 SSW 4.6 ESE & 2.0 WNW). 20kWh battery storage. Two A2A units for cleaner heating. Two BEV's for cleaner driving.
