Think there must be something wrong with our pv. :D

After an extensive investigation I've found the problem with mine ..... it points in the wrong direction(s). ;)
Mart. Cardiff. 8.72 kWp PV systems (2.12 SSW 4.6 ESE & 2.0 WNW). 20kWh battery storage. Two A2A units for cleaner heating. Two BEV's for cleaner driving.

For general PV advice please see the PV FAQ thread on the Green & Ethical Board.

If it's any consolation, a mere 0.3 O here today.:)
Submitted our monthly meter reads this week, gas down to 78kWh's/£2.49, SC £6.23! from 638kWh'/s for the same period last year.
Electricity 671kWh's, up from 468kWh's. The ASHP's contributing 288kWh's against 211 previously, with the EV accounting for 176.6 against 115.
While the EV received 40kWh's from Solar, so not included in the months consumption, I've no idea what proportion may have made up that for the ASHP's.
Just need to replace the gas hob then we can do away with the gas altogether.
It may all have little relevance on this thread but in these dark winter months thought a little diversion might not go amiss!:D

Reg. for FIT Nov 2011. "It's not what you generate; it's how you use it that matters". One very clean Vauxhall Diesel Sri, £30.00 Road Tax: B)

Definition of 'O's = kWh/kWp (kWh = your daily & accurate Generation figure) (kWp = the rated output of your PV Panels).

i guess it's probably obvious from my absence that I'm not really into O's. However I thought these stats might just be of interest to some on here as I found them quite surprising. (The rapid change in production, that is).

My system is 5 panels South Facing and 6 West. To the south of the house is my neighbour so quite a bit of shading. There is an open field to the West but I'm finding the sun sets quite a way south of west to take much advantage at this time of year. Anyway my data:

1 Jan Max production 1.5 kWh Day Length 7:31 Max height of sun 13.2 degrees
20 Jan Max Production 2.5 kWh Day Length 8:13 Sun 16.1 degrees
31st Jan Max Production 4. kWh Day 8:50 Sun 18.8 degrees.

My conclusion from this is that the shading makes a big big difference at this time of year (as if you didn't know that already).

This compares (again interestingly (for me at least)) to March (when we get the biggest daily change in daylight hours) when my maximum production only goes up by a factor of two between the start and the end of the month (compared to 2.6 for January when the days are lengthening relatively gradually).

You're perfectly at liberty to quote your production in kiloWatt hours, or even Watt hours. As you quote your kWp, you can leave it to others to 'do the maths'.
