One theory is that SE panels get their sun when it's cooler in the morning during the summer.!
I'm SSE facing and find the long sunny summer evenings quite depressing from the generation point of view, I get virtually nothing after 5pm. If it's going to be misty it will be in the morning, so for me this seems to offset any effect there may be from its being cooler.

Swings and roundabouts I guess. Our elec usage is probably highest in the late afternoon as we cook with electric so the PV doesn't contribute much to that, but at least we can get the washing/dishwasher on in the early morning and then hang the clothes out to dry (or use the dryer in winter).

Hiya SDJ, some pretty big numbers you've been getting. Guess the winter belongs to you 'steepers'!

Pretty good week here, with 7.2 today and 7.3 yesterday. Hoping to put some in the bank ready for any bad weather to come. It would be so nice to get a month ahead of target for a change.

    Mart.

You're time will come Martin, especially as the days get longer and your NW system delivers the late in the day generation.

We surpassed 4MWh of generation yesterday, and also 300kWh on the ImmerSUN (since 20th Sept), which is about 40% of the generation since we had it installed. Looking forward to seeing how it performs as the days get longer.

I'm sure that means 4MWh in 3 years (or whatever) rather than doing it all yesterday - but in case not, do please share your secret :D

Forgive me if this has already been posted, or if it’s in the wrong place, but if you hadn’t already seen it you might like to know that Ofgem has published the rates for the Feed-in Tariff scheme for PV installations effective from 1 April 2013; relevant tariffs have been adjustedby RPI of 3.1 percent. Short version is export payment up to 3.3 p/kWh :j and generation payment for installations not more than 4 kWp fitted to existing buildings (before 3 March 2012) will now be 46.81 p/kWh.

4MWh in less than 16months actually! That's our total generation since 21st Oct 2011.

Thanks phsci, So that's an effective combined rate (inc 50% deemed export) of 48.46p/kWh for those who beat the 3rd March deadline for most domestic installations.

+ saving on leccy and gas depending on household, by using the free leccy when appropriate.

Now, who said it wasn't a good investment? :rotfl::rotfl:

Close of play tomorrow is the 365 day anniversary for my 2 3.92kw systems.

One's on about 3305kw and the other on 3060kw. About £3k in FIT from both systems!

Not bad considering they cost £7k each! Lets hope they last another 24 years!

What's the going rate for a 4kw system at the moment?

    Mart.
Spot on there Mart...my 28° roof pitch is keeping my daily output way, way down on SDJ's
Also 200mls further north which doesn't help according to PVGIS
But over the year, I see my gen is only 30kWh(ish) less, so I guess it's swings 'n roundabouts:D Edit...just noticed as SDJ says

4.3kWh on a mostly rainy/snowy cold day with a little sunshine:)
