Been away for the weekend and find the following recorded from Friday. 6.4, 4.6 & 3.6 O's.

Today is looking iffy so will probably struggle to match even the lowest of those come the close. Currently 3% ahead of pvgis but will probably slip back by close today.
Surprise,:D 3.9 by close, so just a half an O below par. Require 3.55 O's for each of the remaining four days to match pvgis. Looking at the forecast it's going to be a close run thing.:T
East coast, lat 51.97. 8.26kw SSE, 23° pitch + 0.59kw WSW vertical. Nissan Leaf plus Zappi charger and 2 x ASHP's. Givenergy 8.2 & 9.5 kWh batts, 2 x 3 kW ac inverters. Indra V2H . CoCharger Host, Interest in Ripple Energy & Abundance.

As of last night I was still 179 kwh (23 Os) short of PVGIS total for May. Given that we are only 6 or 7 miles from each other as the crow flies and therefore have very similar weather I don’t have a great deal of confidence in the PVGIS calculations for varying panel orientations.

To achieve May target you need 110.5 Os and I need 111. That doesn’t seem right as your roof is SSE(30* pitch) and mine are ENE and WSW (both 39* pitch).

Or maybe I have just done my PVGIS calcs incorrectly which of course is quite possible. (I will check them again later).

I would be interested to hear what the May target (expressed in Os) is for others with east/west roofs.

Hiya, my May target is 112.72 O's. Currently 18kWh short of target and predicting 111%. But note my system has an almost 2:1 bias in favour of the slightly better than east v's the slightly worse than west roof.

Typically, for any set up using two rooves that differ by 180d, the PVGIS total will work out at (roughly) the same as all east or west at that location .... if both systems are the same size.

Regarding Nick's target, a quick check of PVGIS gave me figures ranging from 3,600 to 3,900 kWh's per year, and around 120 to 130 O's for May.

Edit - Playing with your description and stabbing N. Lincs with random pins, I got figures ranging from about 107 to 113 O's. But I did simplify to all east (-90).
Mart. Cardiff. 8.72 kWp PV systems (2.12 SSW 4.6 ESE & 2.0 WNW). 20kWh battery storage. Two A2A units for cleaner heating. Two BEV's for cleaner driving.

For general PV advice please see the PV FAQ thread on the Green & Ethical Board.

PVGIS is 110.5 O's for May.....unless PVGIS has changed since 2013?

    Anyway yesterday was...

    3.72 O's

Now at 103% for May & equal to my worst May figure (2014).
    4kWp (black/black) - Sofar Inverter - SSE(141°) - 30° pitch - North Lincs
    Installed June 2013 - PVGIS = 3400
    Sofar ME3000SP Inverter & 5 x Pylontech US2000B Plus & 3 x US2000C Batteries - 19.2kWh

I just did a couple of PVGIS calcs for your location, pitch and azimuth. PVGIS-CMSAF produced 129.5 Os and PVGIS-ERA5 produced 126.5 Os. I don’t know which of these or the other two options we should be quoting but I have been using ERA5 as I presumed when Coastalwatch referred to PVGIS5 this is the one he was using. This produced 111 Os for May for my combined system.

I've just put my details into version 5 & the figures are much higher than the previous version (which I can't get to work anymore!) - I wanted to check that I hadn't entered the compass bearing rather than the azimuth back in 2013.

The version 5 total is 3900 which is about what I achieved last year.
