Thanks for the advice to date, particularly the one about ditching the plasma TV. It is 12 years old and a bit old tech but it still works. I am relieved at last to have an excuse for a bigger replacement but it goes against my maxim of the cheapest option being to do nothing.

4.4 O's today but the highlight of the day was generating 20wh after 9pm. Quite a bit of cloud today so very variable outputs but had bursts of 3kw from around 9am until 6pm whenever he sun poked through. We do miss out on the peak values midday with our east and west facing roofs but enjoy the spread of useable power.

Also, and this might be an illusion, but the battery seems to be lasting better/giving out more power than it did when first installed. Do batteries bed in? As I write this at just after 10pm we still have 74% capacity left to see us through until the Economy7 kicks in even though it helped cook tea.

You must be psychic. I did buy a new arc welder at the Lincolnshire show just a month ago.

Hopefully the IBoost will have heated your immersion enough not to use too much Leccy overnight.:T

I will have to do a name change to psychic Oscar...:beer::rotfl:

    Yesterday:
    1 KWh by 7am
    1 Oscar by 10.30am
    4.4 O's total

    Today
1 KWh by 7am. Early morning would be more if not for a large sycamore tree across the road.
3kwh by 8.03 am - thin veil of cloud for last hour.
8kwh by 10.05 so first Oscar came about 10am despite thin cloud
    2nd Oscar at 12.17pm
    3rd 2.34pm
4th 4.34pm thin cloud all day.

No, I haven!!!8217;t been watching the meter all day but have taken 14 readings and extrapolated to calculate the O's. My main interest today has been watching the transition from East to West roofs- remember I am new to this and still seeing how it all works out.

Hmm, dont think that would work out for me; my total energy costs per year amount to £615.82p. Will need to split that to cost of Gas V Leccy, but would think gas takes the Lions share; thanks to Solar PV: I will let you know the split...:)..Today, managed A/an Hawaii + 0.44 O's...coffee.gif

Interesting, I hadn't heard of them so took a look. No saving for me as they don't so Economy 7, although their unit rate is very low to compensate. But how can they claim to have no standing charge when they charge you a £10.99 a month membership fee? That's more than my current standing charge.

After two consecutive minor Maidens we're now running at 138% compared to PVGIS for this month. Today is looking promising approaching 4 O's at two o'clock, doubt we'll manage the hatrick, but what a month to date. Is it all just a mirage!:o
