Renewables: "talking 'bout my generation"

I love numbers and am fascinated by the production figures quoted. So far the best I have seen is 41kwh and a Hawaii. With my east west roof I doubt I will ever see a Maiden.
Hiya and welcome. Just to say that we have an E/W system, but have managed to 'touch a maiden' (just) a few times, but that's pretty much the best of the best days.
Just 3.57 O's yesterday.Mart. Cardiff. 8.72 kWp PV systems (2.12 SSW 4.6 ESE & 2.0 WNW). 20kWh battery storage. Two A2A units for cleaner heating. Two BEV's for cleaner driving.

Thanks Mart. There is hope then with an east west system. Mine made 5.27 Os on Saturday. What I was thinking was the east west split would give a better spread across the day which would suit our retired lifestyle.
When I get permission to post a link I will add a photo of or daily production graph which also illustrates how the Moixa battery kicks in (for another thread).Northern Lincolnshire. 7.8 kWp system, (4.2 kw west facing panels , 3.6 kw east facing), Solis inverters, Solar IBoost water heater, Mitsubishi SRK35ZS-S and SRK20ZS-S Wall Mounted Inverter Heat Pumps, ex Nissan Leaf owner)0 -

Hi guys, I have just recently had a new installation by Moixa consisting of 26 300w panels and one of their 3kwh batteries. I missed the boat with the early FiT payments some of you are enjoying but am hoping to save a bit of money on my bills especially on water heating with the IBoost solar water heater controller.
My installation is split east/west and looking at the production figures some of you are getting I am definitely losing out to the south facing roofs. I understand it will only get worse as the days get shorter.
I am not convinced that a battery will ever pay for itself but decided to take the plunge and save on the VAT and hope that Gridshare will make me some money in the future.

I will post updates of my experience with the battery as I get more into it.
I'll certainly be very interested to learn how things go with your 3Kwh battery and Gridshare.
3.79 O's here today.4kw PV fitted 4th July 2014 (Green Energy NW £5600). WSW facing, 30 deg Pitch, Unshaded, Samil Solar River inverter, 16 Solar World Mono panels, Iboost on Immersion Heater. located in mid Lincolnshire.0 -
26.5 kWh today as quite cloudy which equates to 3.4 Os. Battery only charged to 70% or so although we did steal a bit during the day. Last few days have been getting 100% charge which is then emptied by 2am. Today it will have emptied before midnight - currently discharging at 430 w.
As yet I dont have the battery set up to take advantage of the cheap rate Economy7 tariff overnight. I am on to Moixa about that. What I do like is that it does sometimes chip in a few watts during the day when demand is high and PV output is low to smooth out the supply/demand imbalances. I dont have any control however over when it does this and it certainly isnt every time it is needed. It will all become so much clearer once I can post an image of the inflow and outflow to the battery.
I am also having trouble with the IBoost signal dropping out. After averaging 4kwh daily saving to the hot water tank it has dropped to about 0.1 kWh over the last few days despite there being plenty of solar going spare. The installer thought at the outset there might be an issue because of the distance between the clamp and the controller and we are just seeing how it goes for a week or two before attempting a fix.Northern Lincolnshire. 7.8 kWp system, (4.2 kw west facing panels , 3.6 kw east facing), Solis inverters, Solar IBoost water heater, Mitsubishi SRK35ZS-S and SRK20ZS-S Wall Mounted Inverter Heat Pumps, ex Nissan Leaf owner)0 -

5.9 O's today
. If the remaining July days are average then this would approximate to 123% against pvgis. Currently running at 137% and therefore in grave danger of overtaking May's output unless the weather forecast changes dramatically for the remainder.
