An "O" is worked out from dividing the kWh produced in a day by the size of your system. So 10 kWh generated in a day on a 4kW system would be 2.5 O's.

An Hawaii is 5 O's and a Maiden is 6 O's. See Oscar's sig for full details.

Thanks, that makes sense, I think, so let's test me. Yesterday, on my 3.92kWp setup, 10.79kWh were produced, so that is 2.75Os? And a Hawaii and a Maiden is good. So for January 2.75Os is OK?

    Hi

Yes, for January 2.75kWh/kWp ('Os') is pretty good ... looking at PVOutput for yesterday the only system that bettered it was in Dorset, achieving 11.346kWh from a 4.05kWp system (2.8)

If you're looking to monitor your system performance you should look at PVGIS ... there's information of how to use it & a links in the FAQ thread here (*section 5) on a useful blog site here, or if you're happy to just jump in at the deep end, via direct access at http://re.jrc.ec.europa.eu/pvgis/apps4/pvest.php# ... most of us use the site to generate a monthly target/forecast to measure performance against ...

Well 18 days into the month and only reached a 1/3 of PVGIS so like you this is on course to be my worst month ever unless there is a substantial upturn in the weather which doesn't look like there's any chance of that!
... Ye of little faith - yesterday the weatherman said that Saturday was going to be sunny, sunny, sunny .. :j - same one today is saying iffy, iffy, iffy .. :( - Oh well, so much for the £hundreds-of-millions spent on their supercomputers, back to the old pine-cone, seaweed, finger in the air & the odd look at some animated satellite images! ...

I'm just taking comfort from the fact that we haven't had 5 consecutive days of zero production yet this month (as was the case in December!) ... ;):D

    Hi

.. thinking about it, we last had the log-burner going at the weekend & the GCH on for a couple of hours on Tuesday ... apart from that it's been down to some reasonable sunshine/solar gain over the last couple of days & the heat-pump for which the PV's generation has done the 'heavy lifting', so it's just been ticking over in the evening !

You got a 'bond' double O's. Almost a TyphOOO. Yes we are that silly. :D

Nice (for me) 1.13 O's yesterday. Now predicting 109% for January if the rest of the month is average.

Weather reports are getting silly. Couple of days ago the long term (8 days) was almost all sunshine, now it's mostly grey and rain. :(
Mart. Cardiff. 8.72 kWp PV systems (2.12 SSW 4.6 ESE & 2.0 WNW). 28kWh battery storage. Two A2A units for cleaner heating. Two BEV's for cleaner driving.
