3.96 kWp System, SSE Facing, 30 Degree Pitch, 12 x 330W BenQ Panels, Solar Edge Inverter, Lincoln, Lincolnshire. Installed 26th May 2015.
  • I have noticed that my generation seems pretty poor recently and I have checked this quarter's actual figures against the same time last year and in 2015 and this year seems to be 10-12% down. Is anyone else experiencing that sort of drop or is it something failing on my system?

What you really need to do is to check the PVGIS site (see FAQs if unfamiliar) and see what they forecast for your system. If last year was a bit above average and this year no more than (say) 10% below average you've not a lot to worry about. OTOH if last year was below average and this year even lower then you need to start investigating.

Personally, I would not be worried, just put it down to a carp year. If you are worried, just check your daily O's for a few weeks compared to others on here. That will give you a good guideline..:rotfl:..:D

Similar here but managed 2.16 O's...:)...coffee.gif
2.5 kWp PV system, SSW facing, 45 Deg Roof. ABB Inverter, Monitor: 'Wattson'.
Reg. for FIT Nov 2011. "It's not what you generate; it's how you use it that matters". One very clean Vauxhall Diesel Sri, £30.00 Road Tax: B)

Definition of 'O's = kWh/kWp (kWh = your daily & accurate Generation figure) (kWp = the rated output of your PV Panels).

Thanks Eric, you are dead right and the first two years were above average and this year almost dead on average. I have an east/west alignment so my total figures are a lot less than most of yours. I can hear they are getting a right good clean now!

Maybe have a look on pvoutput.org for systems near you?
Not many people bother with updating it now but it's fairly simple to automate the process.
