Quick question, I know from past experiences reading this forum when our solar panels were new, how wide your knowledge is........ After 5 years of trouble free generation our Aurora Power One inverter decided on Sunday afternoon ( having had some excellent generation) to "lock" what was showing on each string to18340 the first string has an E-tot showing in front of the figures followed by a locked padlock at the end of the figures. The second sting has E-par in front of the figures and no padlock showing. We are still generating but obviously we cannot see true levels of generation. Our installer says he has never heard of this, he got me to reboot but the same response came up. I'm told, as it's still generating there is no problem, he's getting back to me tonight to hear what we have generated today.
Has anyone had any experience of this. We have five years left on our warranty? Sorry it's so long winded.
    Hi

    Welcome to the Forum ....

Just checked a random Aurora manual on-line (as you haven't mentioned the model) and it looks like you've been manually scrolling through the main menu and possibly selected the statistics menu which has further sub menus which include 'Lifetime' (E-tot) and 'Partial' (E-par) ... from a quick scan it looks like the system I looked at had the ability to change the partial counter, so I'd hazard a guess that the padlock symbol is simply informing you that you can't change that counter, which would seem to make sense if it's the main total generation count .... anyway, it looks like all you need to do is return to previous menus (ESC key ?) and possibly re-enable 'auto scroll' if that's what you normally expect to see, if not scroll through until the display shows whatever information you want ....

Didn't spend much time looking at the manual and you haven't told us the model or given a clue as to what & why you were looking to change values; however, the answer would seem to be in your manual or possibly ask the question on a new thread where an Aurora owner may pick up your query ... any technical question like that would probably be completely lost on this thread due to the number of posts ....

As for the installer ... if he's 'never heard of this' and the answer is simple ......:silenced:!!

  • Thanks for your suggestions Zeupater, Looks like tomorrow will be intense investigation on the net! It's a 3:6 Power One and no we haven't been scrolling. It appears to have developed a mind of its own!!

Finally a month where I'm up (so far). Currently predicting 102% for the month after some nice days. Target at this end of the month is 2.5 Os, growing to 3.2 O's by the end of April.

Forecast is great for another week, but still 100kWh's behind for 2017 ..... ho hum.
Mart. Cardiff. 8.72 kWp PV systems (2.12 SSW 4.6 ESE & 2.0 WNW). 20kWh battery storage. Two A2A units for cleaner heating. Two BEV's for cleaner driving.

For general PV advice please see the PV FAQ thread on the Green & Ethical Board.

    Hi

If you haven't intentionally been scrolling through the display options could it have been done unintentionally ? ...

Anyway, here's a link to an Aurora PVI-3.6 user manual. Check that it applies to your own 3.6 model as there may have been some changes between your unit & the manual published date. Section 7 contains details of display menus, descriptions, navigation & usage (page 69 of 103) ...

Note that you must ensure that the manual is the one applicable to your particular inverter if you're looking to change/modify/reset any parameters or counters ...

Here's a link to a video showing the Aurora Power One PVI-3.6-OUTD-UK Menu Cycle which looks to include exactly the display you've described ...

... hopefully, all you need to do is scroll through the options to return the display to the one you're familiar with.

    Hi

So it was just a case of scrolling through the display options ... makes the reply by the installer look to be a little .... :silenced::whistle: .... anyway, good to see it's sorted, keep generating & continue the good work ...

Unlike you, I saw no clouds today, in spite of a less than promising forecast. Consequently 5.8 Os today.
