Never had this before and I doubt it will happen again!

    Actually, £2.55 would be £2 11s and the extra 3p is worth 7.2d (240d = 100p) so correct answer is £2.11s 7.2d
Actually, £257.5p would be £2 11s 6p. (I posted £2.58p) So, the question remains; what is 1/2 a new pence worth in old money, it's surely not worth 1.2p old pence?..:rotfl::rotfl::);)

Definition of 'O's = kWh/kWp (kWh = your daily & accurate Generation figure) (kWp = the rated output of your PV Panels).

Great day yesterday, but March is still sliding backwards, and predicting 87% now. Hopefully the weather will improve a bit now(ish).

Poor start to 2017, but if I've got to have 3 bad months, I'd rather they were at this end of the PV season.

We're confusing two different concepts here. A pound used to be divided into 240 pennies, it's now divided into 100 new pence hence each p is equivalent to 2.4d so yes, 0.5p really does have to shown as equal to 1.2p

However, it's not really true to say that today's pound is worth the same as a 1971 pound - although if you can find a 1971 pound note and take it along to the Bank of England to have its promise honoured you would only get a modern pound coin for it.

Perhaps a 'fairer demonstration might be to consider that my last pint of beer with decimal money cost me 1s.6d whereas my last one this week was £3 (and no doubt if I returned to East Sussex I'd be paying nearer £4). That makes a 1971 penny's equivalent worth to be something in the order of 40p or 50p correction 20p
