Hmm, that's odd. Thought it was only Microsoft that had undocumented features - lol0

Good day here. 2.7 Os.4kWp, South facing, 16 x phono solar panels, Solis inverter, Lincolnshire.0

I had my 4kw system installed in October but I haven't seen instantaneous readings to go above 2.5kw. Is there a way of interegating the panels from the invertor to see if they are working properly
Hiya, what orientation and pitch are your panels?
I think 2.5kW sounds ok.
How's this for extremes:- due to orientation and pitch, my daily target for yesterday was 3.3kWh. BUT I got a lovely 8.2kWh. However, I never saw total gen go above 1.4kW (roughly 1.3kW ESE + 0.1kW WNW, slowly changing to 0.3kW ESE + 0.4kW WNW).
In the summer I can see 4.2kW (11am to 3pm) and short spikes of 4.9kW. With total gen on a long good day of 34kWh.
Mart.Mart. Cardiff. 8.72 kWp PV systems (2.12 SSW 4.6 ESE & 2.0 WNW). 20kWh battery storage. Two A2A units for cleaner heating. Two BEV's for cleaner driving.

Thanks (in anticipation) for any opinions.
Hiya ET and welcome. Obviously there's a fair bit of guess work at this time of year, and having days vary from zero to perhaps 300% of target doesn't help. But I doubt your optimism is extreme.
Best bet is to work out your monthly figures using PVGIS (just do it twice, once for W and once for S and add together).
Then see how you do each month against those estimates. You will have to hold your nerve, as Nov & Dec were horrific, but (for me) Jan seems on target. Just remember to read comments on here, that should give you a good gut feeling for whether a month is poor, average or good. If your performance (against PVGIS) is similar, then 'happy times'.
See my earlier post for off-south, shallow(ish) panel performance, it makes a huge difference. My system has an 8:1 ratio of June v's Dec, whilst an average pitch south system is probably about 4:1. Your slightly west weighted system is probably 6(ish)?
[Edit: since the west panels have issues, shading and extreme shallow (5 of my ESE are at 20d), then perhaps your ratio will be closer to 7:1 ..... but I'm clearly guessing now. M.]

Thanks Martyn, all appears to be very sound advice. I will do the analysis you suggest. Also your notes on pitches and ratios are very helpful. I don't need to be too concerned whether the numbers come out at 6,7 or 8:1 but knowing that numbers in that region are not unusual does make me more hopeful that things will pick up very positively as we head into spring. I will however do the maths and report back in due course!
Cheers!
