    Edwink ;)

As you already harvest half the trees in your area ..... can't you subtly offer to 'help them' with those trees? ;)

Haven't looked at today's gen yet. I suspect it will be close to zero, very close!

Some relatives of ours managed to force their neighbours to reduce the height of some out of control leylandiis that were taking all the sunlight from their garden so I think there is a route to getting these issues sorted - I suspect that you would need to show it was making your house and garden unacceptably shaded rather than just htting your PV ouput though.

Nice idea!! Our neighbour who we call Mr Will He Won't He has been saying he will get them loped for the past 3 years. The trouble is they do not actually shade our garden as such. They only shade our Chicken Coop which is 100ft away from the house when the sun is coming up from the east. And in the winter his 2 ugly trees (not Leylandiis) shade our panels when the sun is shining from the east and south. Plus our other neighbours Beech tree, our Mountain Ash and our neighbours the other side have a Beech tree too. In fact every house in our road has a huge tree at the end of their garden. They are all over 200ft away from our houses but the sun sits behind them all in the winter so it just pokes through where there is a gap from time to time. On top of that we back on to a common which is heaving with trees. So we always knew we would have shading issues in the winter months.

Our install is not the best either with incorrectly installed inverters (laying backwards and constantly getting hot with the fans running). Also Excess cabling from the lower roof panels to the higher roof panels coiled up and fastened with a cable tie and tucked in to the guttering. This is instead of the cables going from the lower panels to the higher panels and having the excess removed. But, I suppose you live and learn. and if we knew then what we know now we would have done a lot more homework before purchasing them back in 2012. Hindsight eh????

To try and help with the low generation figures we removed one of two chimneys last year. We moved the offending one to the east of the roof so neither of them cause any shading at all now. Before we moved the chimney one panel (the only top one) on a string of 6 was being shaded until mid day by the chimney. Doing this has helped a little but not much.

We generate quite well being south facing but are normally around 100kWh under PVGIS every year.

Worse to come is our neighbour is now having a loft extension done next door early next year. I give up!!!:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:

Nah! You're safe, I finally drummed up the courage to look at my TGM's ..... 0 + 0.2 ..... so a mighty 0.036 Os for me!

The long term forecast here is full of grey clouds, all of them leaking blue raindrops!
