Just a thought is it more difficult for those of us with 4kW systems to get high O numbers because our inverters are rated at 3.6 where someone with say a 2.5 Kw system can get an inverter to take full advantage of all their panels can dish out?
I wish! 2kWp system but inverter output limited to 1575W. Curse those installers! I will never get a 7 with my current system, 6.25 yesterday.
2kWp Solar PV - 10*200W Kioto, SMA Sunny Boy 2000HF, SSE facing, some shading in winter, 37° pitch, installed Jun-2011, inverter replaced Sep-2017 AND Feb-2022.

Have you considered changing the inverter? If you 'only' generate 100kWh more pa then that will give you £500 to play with over 10 years.

Looking for inverters that may (not sure) be installed for £500 and slightly more efficient than 94.4% (the XS2000) gives a few options, though I don't know what the VAT rate is 5% or 20% for an inverter replacement. 10yr warranties, or extendable to 10yr:

    Samil 2100 £365

    Solis 2kW £277

    Omnik 2kW £310

    Edit. and another:

    GoodWe 2000W £266

But you need to compare to PVGIS and see if your inverter is capping too much, without low generation efficiency gain to make up for it.

    Mart.
Mart. Cardiff. 8.72 kWp PV systems (2.12 SSW 4.6 ESE & 2.0 WNW). 20kWh battery storage. Two A2A units for cleaner heating. Two BEV's for cleaner driving.

For general PV advice please see the PV FAQ thread on the Green & Ethical Board.

Hi Mart, yes, I had considered it and thought it very unlikely to pay back unless I can get one very cheaply or the existing one fails. I expect the VAT would be 20%.

It's difficult to say. On an annual basis I have been at or just below SAF PVGIS and I expect this is mostly due to winter shading rather than inverter capping. However, it does look as though it is maxing out a lot of the time during the summer and I am pretty sure I would comfortably get 7 Os + if it weren't.

Thanks, perhaps I will make a 7 if I hadn't had some cloud later in the day.

Oh well, still waiting for the bell curve and a 7. :)

Considering it was such a dull day, then a very pleasing 4.85 ho's or 19.416 kWh!

Just need the storm to break, quite muggy up here in the Corby Highlands?
4kWp, SSE, SolarEdge P300 optimisers & SE3500 Inverter, in occasionally sunny Corby, Northants.
Now with added Sunsynk 5kw hybrid ecco inverter & 15kWh Fogstar batteries. Oh Octopus Energy too.
