I see that the EnergyHive server has taken a day of again as it's a Bank Holiday.......coffee.gif

Yes, it was playing up yesterday from time to time. Now I can't test my repositioning of the clamps.
I have osteoarthritis in my hands so I speak my messages into a microphone using Dragon. Some people make "typos" but I often make "speakos".

Are you not running a local copy of 'Holmes' ?

That's a good idea. I'll take the Holmes net book to Wattson to be "fed". Thank you.

    Don't bother; it's working now.....:D

Clamp change appears to have made a difference then...your import has dropped significantly....Mind; it may be due to the fact that you are now generating 120Wh throughout the night....smiley-laughing021.gif...coffee.gif

Must have been a very bright moon last night :D

According to Wattson & Holmes, I quite often generate anything up to 12kW for a few seconds at night - possibly this is a good area for shooting stars ? :rotfl:

Clamp orientation definitely makes a difference...I know because a couple of friends

showed me their readings which were way out, and were on the wrong way round:cool:

Agreed they are important, but easy...this diagram shows how easy, as long as you fit all clamps at the switch-board on to the corresponding wires. Only problem initially, is perhaps getting the two clamps on the same wire in the correct orientation to each other......:D...coffee.gif

Oscar's diagram is specifically aimed at people using the 'easifit' cable. Not sure if Sterlingtimes actually has one of those ?

If he's managed to fit one clamp to the generation lead and another to the consumption lead, I don't think it matters which way round the clamps are fitted.

This youtube video from an Australian sparkie

shows the 'traditional' fitting method and doesn't mention clamp orientation.

Yes, it was all wrong. The difficulty is that the measurements do change when I clamp onto logically equivalent Kirchoff points at the schematic.

Anyway, I moved at lunchtime from all neutral to all live. It was somewhat more difficult getting to the clamp on points and I had to retrofit the wiring a little.

Now grid power clamp is connected at the only one inch of large diameter live cable where it enters the consumer unit before any switch. The two solar clamps are fitted to the live wire between the solar isolator and inverter side of the meter.

Now I will need to see whether that give a peculiar overnight reading.

I take it you have checked to make sure you are using 10-4-420 firmware on Wattson....;)
