You must be feeling better your jokes are nearly as bad as mine.

If referencing maidens is getting too touchy (Oh er missus, I've done it again), then how about I caned it today, or got a caning (6 of the best).

Me thinks this will be just as dodgy and as confusing as running around chasing maidens.

Right. Sun's up, generation nearly hitting 1kW, this boat is making the Hawaiian shoreline today even if I have to jump overboard and drag it up the beach myself. Time to hook up the bike to a Trax trainer generator and start sweating.

    Mart.
Mart. Cardiff. 8.72 kWp PV systems (2.12 SSW 4.6 ESE & 2.0 WNW). 20kWh battery storage. Two A2A units for cleaner heating. Two BEV's for cleaner driving.

    What a day yesterday...

27.43kWh... The best day ever since the day before yesterday's best day ever... :)

6.86 O's... That 7 is getting closer... Not this month though I'm sure. Yesterday was pretty much a perfect bell curve, with glorious sunshine from start to finish.

Started generating at 5:15am (37W) and finished at 19:15 (7W).. there is a 'quickening' in my drop in generation at about 17:00 when the shadow of next door roof creeps across. I'm about 15-20 degrees off south towards east...

Managed a smidge over 6 Os - about the limit due to my shading. 11th best day ever....
    3.924kWp (12X327Wp SunPower). SolarEdge SE3500 inverter.
Surrey/SE. 30 degree roof pitch, chimney shading from mid afternoon.

Hmm. All this talk of the mythical 7 O's has got me thinking. When calculating O's should I use the TIC or the max. rating of my inverter? I have 2.5kWp of panels and a 2kW inverter. Yesterday I was on the inverter limit for hours.

Or maybe what I lose by the inverter constraint I gain from the panels when not on the limit? I feel some calculations invoking integration might be needed...

As Oscar is the de facto arbiter of acceptable behaviour in relation to generation figures here, perhaps he might like to rule on this one?
My PV system: South West England, 10x 250Wp Trina Solar panels, Fronius Inverter, South facing roof, 35° pitch with no shading.

Another 6.4 O`s for me yesterday. This previous 2 weeks really have been something else.

2 of my friends recently took the solar plunge....I fear they are going to think this deluge of `O`s is the norm ;)

On another note my first year has came and went with a generation of 3600 kWh`s clocked up, well above my predicted 3300. Quite happy with that.

SSE have been experiencing about 6 month of system upgrades regarding their FiT payments.
Called yday to submit a reading (I realise I should have done it before April 1st to avoid confusion regarding rate increase) does anyone know what amount of my generated units will be allocated the new rate? I assume its an estimate? Not sure if that works in my favour or not.....
This submit was from October 11th til yesterday, and amounted to 1153 units .

    Cheers.

You can absolutely rely on the fact that if you let an electricity company calculate an 'estimate' then they'll make sure any error(s) is(are) in their favour :D

As there's been some problems, they may use some 'clever' technique. But the general practice for allocating pre and post April generation is to simply divide generation by the number of days and apportion that way. As Eric warns, this will work in there favour since gen after 1st April is on average better than gen before. However, with the inflationary uplift being so small this time, it may only be a matter of a few pennies difference.

Is that Hawaii I see in the distance? Good gen marker 1 reached of 12 by 12 (12kWh by 12noon on the ESE) I only get that on my good days, so fingers still crossed.

Thanks for replies. Do you know what the actual FiT rate increase would have been for me? or have a link to appropriate website. Details in my sig.

    Cheers
